According to the legal community on the 23rd, Kim Jae-hee was included among 69 people sent on charges of violating the law on the regulation of similar reception activities and fraud under the Act on Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes.
The group operated 35 branches nationwide from December 2022 to August last year, raising KRW 289.9 billion in illegal investment from 30,000 people, the survey showed. Of these, 306 confirmed victims alone and the amount of damage is estimated to be 19 billion won.
The key suspects, A (43) and B (44), were arrested, and 67 people, including Kim Jae-hee, were handed over to the prosecution without detention.
According to the police investigation, Kim Jae-hee was found to have promoted the company's business by attending business presentations across the country in the name of vice chairman and in-house director at the crime company.
At the event, some testified that it played a role in raising investor confidence by singing.
In the process, Kim Jae-hee was found to have been provided with a salary of 100 million won, a luxury car worth 60 million won to 70 million won in market price, and 80 million won worth of money and goods.
However, Kim Jae-hee reportedly denied the allegations completely, saying in a police investigation that `I didn't know it was a fraudulent crime.'
It was found that the main culprit, such as A, used a typical 'Ponzi fraud (multi-stage financial fraud)' method of attracting investors with principal guarantees and high returns and then paying existing investors' returns with new investments.
Meanwhile, Kim Jae-hee is the younger brother of the late Kim Jae-ki, who made her face known to the public by serving as one of the four vocalists of the revival.
