KBS agreed to strengthen media exchanges and cooperation with China's Central Broadcasting Bureau (CMG) on the occasion of the APEC summit. This agreement between representative media organizations of the two countries is expected to be a breakthrough that will substantially advance the lifting of the so-called 'Hanryeong (令 Korea)'

KBS (President Park Jang-beom) signed a comprehensive business agreement (MOU) with China's CMG (President Shen Hai-hsiung) in Gyeongju on the 1st. Through this, the two organizations promised to open the door for media exchanges and contribute positively to the development of bilateral relations and the global media environment.

The two organizations first decided to seek cooperation in various forms of media content, including news and sports. They also agreed to work together to develop technologies and equipment in the broadcasting sector and new digital media services. In addition, they agreed to expand human exchanges and cooperation in the media industry, especially sharing major international events hosted by the two organizations and encouraging participation.

With this agreement, KBS plans to materialize cooperation with CMG on major international stages, including the APEC summit to be held in China in 2026. KBS, in particular, has been discontinued since 2016It plans to actively promote cultural exchange programs between the two countries, such as the resumption of the ', the KBS Symphony Orchestra's performance in Beijing, and the entry of 'Music Bank World Tour' into China.

KBS President Park Jang-beom stressed that `This MOU will signal the advancement of the Korean Wave, including K-pop, back into China beyond just cooperation between media organizations.'

CMG is China's largest comprehensive media group launched in 2018 by integrating CCTV (China Central Television), CNR (China Central People's Broadcasting), and CRI (China International Broadcasting), and currently operates 51 TV channels, 22 radio channels, and a number of new media platforms.
