Lee Byung-hun delivered his thoughts on playing Cho Hoon-hyun, Korea's best Go legend, in an interview with the human drama film 「"Victory" (directed by Kim Hyung-joo and produced by the movie Sawolgwang) on the morning of the 21st.
Lee Byung-hun said "Cho Hoon-hyun, the noodles, came to the premiere and watched the movie, and I was embarrassed because I didn't know he would come that day. Aren't you very curious about how to watch a movie? I couldn't ask directly, but I heard the reviews he left. What I heard was that the movie was so fun and that the psychology and emotions of the main characters in the movie were expressed very well, which was amazing. However, Cho Hoon-hyun said, `I didn't scold Lee Chang-ho that much.' The teacher is only a guide rather than teaching stone by stone" he said.
Then "Didn't you act as Cha Min-soo, a real person in the SBS drama 'All In' when you were very young?" In fact, Cha Min-soo and Cho Hoon-hyun are said to be childhood best friends. I thought it was a really strange relationship. I thought it was a strange relationship that I played their lives. The artist must have been most concerned about drawing real people rather than me. There are so many points where you can be blamed if you see a distortion or a lie. The actor is free to act with fiction created when acting. Freedom should be excluded when there is a real person like this when it can be spread freely. I have to imagine that I would have felt this kind of feeling as similar as possible, but that point is difficult but fun," he replied.
"There are some points of concern about real people, but it was also a challenge to learn Go in this work. I had to learn from putting stones on the board, and I took lessons such as holding and placing stones, as well as putting stones between stones. After taking lessons, I had to come home and practice, but I also did it with my son. Since I don't know much about Go, I taught my son Omok and played Omuk together. When I had my son's schedule, I got help from my wife, Lee Min-jung, he added.
'Victory' is a story about Korea's best Go legend, Cho Hoon-hyun, who once again challenges the top with his natural temperament as a adventurer after losing a match against his student. Lee Byung-hun, Yoo Ah-in, Ko Chang-seok, Hyun Bong-sik, Moon Jung-hee, and Kim Kang-hoon appeared, and director Kim Hyung-joo of 'Security' took the megaphone. It will be released on the 26th.
