JTBC's new Saturday-Sunday drama 'The Art of Negotiation' (written by Lee Seung-young, directed by Ahn Pan-seok) is a drama that depicts the performance of an M&A expert and the team of a large company called a legendary negotiator.
With M&A team leader Yoon Jun-no (Lee Je-hoon) at the forefront of the struggle to resolve the debt of the industrial group, attention is also focused on the move of the industrial group Big 3 that will add tension to the 11 trillion won procurement project.
First of all, the relationship between Chairman Song Jae-sik (Sung Dong-il), who invited Yoon Jun-no to the industrial group, is drawing attention. Song Jae-sik, dubbed the living witness of Korea's corporate history, brings a new storm to the company when he calls back M&A expert Yoon Jun-no when the Ilgun Industrial Group is in crisis due to massive debt of 11 trillion won.
In particular, as Song Jae-sik declared that he would not inherit the industrial group, there is a close factional fight within him seeking the next chairman's position. I wonder why Song Jae-sik called Yoon Jun-no in the midst of this, and whether he will be an enemy or an ally to Yoon Jun-no.
On the other hand, the confrontational relationship between Yoon Jun-no and Ha Tae-soo (Jang Hyun-sung), the executive director of the Sanin Group, is also interesting. Ha Tae-soo is the CFO of the KDB Group, which has secured the group's financial resources such as finance and accounting and expanded its power to the group's No. 2 position. As it is a position closely linked to the M&A that Yoon Jun-ho is trying to proceed with, it gives a subtle feeling of atmosphere between the two.
Above all, Ha Tae-soo is extremely wary of Yoon Jun-no, who Song Jae-sik called in, as he is only looking for the opportunity to succeed Song Jae-sik as CEO. As a result, curiosity is growing about how Ha Tae-soo's presence will affect Yoon Jun-no's 11 trillion won procurement project.
Unlike Ha Tae-soo, Lee Dong-joon (Oh Man-seok), managing director of the Sanin Group, serves as a strong supporter of Yoon Ju-no. Lee Dong-joon, who has been with Song Jae-sik since he was a small company, is the CCO of the Sanin Group and serves as another axis of power within the Sanin Group. Ha Tae-soo is considered one of the most powerful opponents within the company because he is a good person and has a good political power.
Therefore, Lee Dong-joon is expected to play the role of the best mentor and supporter for Yoon Jun-no, who has just returned to the company. Attention is focusing on whether Yoon Juno will be able to lead the 11 trillion won procurement project to success with the help of Lee Dong-joon, a reliable senior in life.
As such, Yoon Jun-ho will hold a tight in-house psychological battle between various types of bosses, from unknown president Song Jae-sik to executive director Ha Tae-soo, who stands at odds, and Lee Dong-joon, who will be a helper. I look forward to the 'technology of negotiation' that will risk the fate of the company and provide tension that I can't take my eyes off due to a tight battle of interests.
JTBC's new Saturday-Sunday drama 『The Art of Negotiation』, which depicts the fierce social life of Lee Je-hoon, a veteran negotiator in the negotiation world, will premiere at 10:30 p.m. on the 8th.
