 80% of Seoul area, real-time site connection on SBS 'Live Broadcast to Help Damage to Wildfires'



SBS urgently organized a special live broadcast to recover from forest fires and support victims.

Broadcasting from 7:40 a.m. to noon on April 1, the 'Special Live Broadcast to Help the Damage to the Wildfire' was designed to shed light on the seriousness of the recent massive forest fire damage in the Yeongnam region and the desperate reality of the victims who lost their homes and to encourage national fundraising participation.

Starting with Sancheong, Gyeongsangnam-do on March 21, the wildfire spread to Uiseong, Yeongdeok, and Ulju, Gyeongsangbuk-do. It took 213 hours to evolve. 48,106 hectares, or 80% of Seoul's area, were reduced to ashes, and 30 people were killed due to the large number of casualties. In terms of the scale of the damage, it is recorded as the greatest disaster ever.




Through this live broadcast, SBS delivers the vivid devastation of the forest fire, while also presenting effective damage recovery measures and preventive measures through interviews with disaster experts and forest restoration experts. In particular, it plans to connect major forest fire damage sites such as Sancheong, Gyeongsangnam-do, Jirisan, Hadong, Yeongdeok, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Ulju, Ulsan, using LTE technology to deliver real-time on-site conditions to viewers.

The special live broadcast will be divided into the first and second parts and will be hosted by announcers Choi Hye-rim and Kim Joo-woo. During the live broadcast, ARS fundraising through the National Disaster Relief Association will be held in real time, and people from various fields will gather their will to continue supporting messages and donations.

SBS said, `This forest fire, in which the national disaster crisis warning went back and forth between the stages 'alert' and 'serious', is a situation in which social solidarity and joint response are urgently needed.''We ask for your attention and participation to provide practical help and hope to the residents," he said.
