'Romance chemistry is crazy'...Yook Sung-jae and Kim Ji-yeon synergy revealed directly by director Yoon Sung-sik of 'Going Palace.'

Director Yoon Sung-sik, who directed SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Going Palace', expressed strong confidence in the romance chemistry between the main actors Yook Sung-jae and Kim Ji-yeon.

'Gwipung' (written by Yoon Soo-jung and directed by Yoon Seong-sik) is a fantasy romantic comedy centered on the legend of Yi Gun, who is connected to the curse of the royal family. It is a unique mixed genre drama in which Yeori (Kim Ji-yeon), a shaman who rejects the fate of Yeongmae, and Kang Cheol-yi (Yook Sung-jae), a Lee Weapon who is possessed by the body of Yeori's first love Yoon Gap (Yook Sung-jae), take the initiative of the soul and body, and will be broadcast on April 18 as a follow-up to 「Treasure Island」.

Director Yoon Sung-sik said, "'Going Palace' is a drama that combines various genres such as rom-co, exorcism, bromance, and action. He focused on balancing romance and comedy so that it could be approached lightly and cheerfully, and ghosts also tried to increase empathy by portraying them as human souls," he said.

In the play, Yook Sung-jae played a two-person role between Yoon Gap, an exorcist prosecutor, and Ibugi Steel. Director Yoon said, `From the beginning, it was difficult to express the character and had to digest various genre demands, but Yook Sung-jae brought the character to life with his unique full-color charm and stable acting," he praised.

Kim Ji-yeon also plays the role of a shaman, Yeo-ri, and plays a character with a complicated inner side. Director Yoon said, "Kim Ji-yeon has an oriental atmosphere and a strong image that fits well with Yeo-ri." "The chemistry between the two was impressive, especially in the anti-Korean romance with Yook Sung-jae." he said.

The fact that the two actors are long-time friends also contributed to the romance. Director Yoon added that `One of the biggest strengths of \'Going Palace' is the excitement that comes out of their relationship.'

Kim Ji-hoon will star in the role of Lee Jung-eun, who confronts the Eightfold Gwi, who has vowed revenge on the royal family. Director Yoon raised expectations, saying, `We need a dual role that crosses good and evil, and Kim Ji-hoon has both softness, charisma, and occasional darkness.'

A large number of acting masters, including Kim Sang-ho, Gu In-sang, Kim In-kwon, Cha Cheong-hwa, and Son Byung-ho, will appear to help save the color of each genre. Director Yoon said, `They have expressed all the characters in different tones in a stable manner,' adding, `It has been a great help for a rich story and completeness.'

CG and special effects also focused on the sense of reality. Director Yoon focused on natural realization based on live action rather than unconditional VFX, and sought realism by reducing exaggeration not only in the visuals of rare objects but also in the production of action", he explained.

'Going Palace' advocates a 'light but deep fantasy loco' that all generations can enjoy together, and will premiere at 9:50 p.m. on April 18.
