At a briefing session on KBS's new spring entertainment program held at KBS's new building in Yeouido, Seoul on the 7th, CP Park said that the average viewership of `The Seasons' is around 1% instead of 0%.
Actor Park Bo-gum was selected as the seventh host of 'The Seasons', which will premiere on March 14. Earlier, in February 2023, 'The Seasons' has presented 'Choi Jung-hoon's Night Park', 'Akmu's Onnal-OkBam', 'Lee Hyo-ri's Red Carpet', 'Zico's Artist' and 'Lee Young-ji's Rainbow'. It raised expectations for the program by recruiting stars as MCs, but fell into a swamp of sluggishness, recording 0-1% ratings for two consecutive years.
Accordingly, CP Park said "The Seasons" had low ratings, but it was not in the 0% range and in the 1% range. You might think that's the case there, but there is a big difference between subtracting 10,000 won from 1 million won and subtracting 10,000 won from 100,000 won. I've averaged ratings for the past six seasons, and I'm sure it's 1%."
In the meantime, there can be many standards in evaluating programs. In particular, public broadcasters such as KBS have strong ratings, but "The Seasons" has high buzz and content reach rates. I think it's YouTube views that show up. 'The Seasons' has more than 300 million views on last year's clip. I don't know the revenue, but the views are overwhelming on KBS. I hope that's also considered. I think the more diversified the content and the more platforms there are, the more diverse the evaluation factors should be."
