The complaint received on the 28th included the copyright law violations of Studio C1 and PD Jang Si-won, trademark law violations, professional breach of trust, damage to electronic records and obstruction of business on C1.
The copyright law violation is alleged to have infringed on copyright rights by producing a sequel program 'fireball' that is similar to the 'strongest baseball' seasons 1 to 3, in which JTBC holds all rights to IP, and producing 'strongest baseball's spin-off program 'Kim Sung-geun's Winter Vacation' without permission to other OTTs. He also filed a charge of violating the trademark law by using and exposing trademarks without permission from JTBC, the trademark owner of the 'strongest baseball' and violating trademark rights in the 'Kim Sung-geun's Winter Vacation'.
In addition, PD Jang Si-won ran Studio C1 and arbitrarily set the remuneration of directors without a resolution at the general shareholders' meeting, stating that PD Jang Si-won, the director himself, committed an act of breach of duty that took property gains and caused damage to the company.
JTBC also sued C1 for damage and obstruction of work, including electronic records, for deleting files related to 'strongest baseball' stored on JTBC servers without permission after the end of the program production contract.
JTBC plans to launch a new season of 'strongest baseball' in September as a subject who holds all the rights to the 'strongest baseball'IP.
We will continue to take strong legal action against similar and subclass content that violates JTBC's intellectual property rights, and we plan to file criminal complaints against those who broadcast or service them.
