'Gwigung' (written by Yoon Soo-jung and directed by Yoon Seong-sik) is a fantasy romantic comedy about a confrontation between a shaman who refused to become a god, Lee Mugi-cheol, the evil god trapped in the body of Yeo-ri's first love Yoon Gap, and '87gui' who has a grudge against the royal family. Director Yoon Sung-sik and writer Yoon Soo-jung of `The Face of the King' are in sync, and they are expected to have strong mise-en-scène and unique worldview even before the first broadcast.
In the play, Kim Ji-yeon plays the role of Yeori, who is born with a new talent, but refuses to become a shaman, and Shin Seul-ki plays the role of a renowned singer, Kyu-soo Choi In-sun, who has a clear and pure personality.
The still released showed Yeori facing a shocking situation in the middle of the street in broad daylight. In-seon, dressed in blood, runs into Yeori with a mad look, causing an extreme sense of crisis. The dramatic composition that you can't take your eyes off for a moment overwhelms your eyes, and it stimulates questions about why and how Inseon became possessed.
In particular, another still captures the viewer's breath as he falls to the floor in front of an unidentified force strangling Yeo-ri, struggling in pain. The confrontation between the two female characters, which foretells an intense conflict from the first broadcast, is expected to add more immersion to the fantasy narrative of 'Guigung'.
Meanwhile, 'Going Palace' is SBS's only fantasy historical drama in 2024 that adds romance and comedy to occult elements such as Lee Weapon, evil god, shaman, and spirituality, and unique actors such as Yook Sung-jae, Kim Ji-yeon, Kim Ji-hoon, and Shin Seul-gi will gather to perform intense character plays in each episode.
SBS' new Friday-Saturday drama 'Going Palace' will premiere at 9:50 p.m. on April 18.
