The viewer's choice is MBC...It topped the KI viewer rating index and caught both trust and public interest

According to the 2024 KI viewer rating index survey recently published by the Korea Information and Communication Policy Institute (KISDI), MBC topped the terrestrial channel with a rating of 7.46 points in the 10-point KI viewer rating index.
MBC showed a significant increase in ratings compared to 7.34 points in 2023, the only channel among the four terrestrial channels with increased viewer evaluation and satisfaction.
In particular, MBC ranked first in six of the seven items surveyed, including 'interest' and 'diversity', 'reliability' and 'benefit', 'fairness' and 'public interest', and in particular, it was directly recognized by viewers that it faithfully played its role as a public broadcaster by receiving the highest rating among the channels surveyed in terms of reliability, fairness, and public interest.
The KI viewer rating index was introduced in 2005 to avoid sinking into viewership competition and to improve the quality of broadcasting. The viewer rating index (KI) survey conducted by the Korea Communications Commission and the Information and Communication Policy Institute is conducted four times a year, targeting a total of 48,000 online panels, and the KI index is calculated by examining the satisfaction of the program and the qualitative excellence, respectively.
