SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Going Palace' heralded a new world of fantasy historical dramas that combine traditional folktales with romance.

On the afternoon of the 17th, the SBS Hall on the 13th floor of the SBS building in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, held a production presentation for SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Going Palace' (written by Yoon Soo-jung/directed by Yoon Sung-sik). Director Yoon Sung-sik, who directed the show, as well as actors Yook Sung-jae, Kim Ji-yeon, and Kim Ji-hoon, were present on the day.

「Treasure Island」 is a fantasy rom-co in which the body of Yeori, a shaman who rejects the fate of Yeongmae, and Cheol-i Lee, who is trapped in Yeori's first love Yoon Gap, are confronted by eight ears with a grudge against the royal family and his body and soul are firmly twisted. Director Yoon Sung-sik, who has been recognized for his trust and fun by directing dramas 'Queen Cheolin', 'The Best Yi Sun-shin', 'Gakshital', 'Daejo-young', joined forces with writer Yoon Soo-jung, who wrote the dramas 'The King's Face' and 'The Fascinating Go'. Yook Sung-jae (played by Yoon Gap/Kang Cheol-i), Kim Ji-yeon (played by Yeo-ri), and Kim Ji-hoon (played by Lee Jung) are in sync with each other.

Actor Yook Sung-jae, who led the entire play with a two-person role, said, `It was my first time trying a historical drama, but I was greedy for acting as a two-person role.' `It was interesting that the solidity of traditional historical dramas combined with fantasy, exorcism, and romance.' Unlike the soft exterior, he even digests the wild side of the strong weapon 'steel'.

Kim Ji-yeon plays the role of a shaman who rejects the fate of Yeongmae and lives as a craftsman of love (glasses). Kim Ji-yeon "I've always wanted to do fantasy stuff. The fresh combination of this weapon, shamanism, and ghosts was attractive"I liked the director's previous works, and this time, I got a sense of acting challenge because I was a character who crossed various genres."," he said.

Kim Ji-hoon appears as the king 'Lee Jung'. He is a `king' but not just a castle. There were moments when I felt like a villain, so I had to have a wide spectrum of acting"It is not an exaggeration to say that I have changed my 20-year acting life..." he said.

First of all, the chemistry between Yook Sung-jae and Kim Ji-yeon stood out at the scene. The two, who have been together since their trainee days, were worried that their long-term friendship would be a burden, but rather, "We were able to perform deeper because we could exchange feedback without paying attention." "Jiyeon was more professional than I thought," Yook Sung-jae said. "It was hard to see (Yook Sung-jae's) work, but I learned a lot from this scene."I complimented him.

Actors and producers also said that they paid a lot of attention to special makeup and effects, as it is a fantasy historical drama with ghosts and treasures appearing.

Director Yoon Sung-sik did not paint ghosts as mere objects of fear""We used special makeup and suits to embody the ghosts in the Seolhwa based on live-action, and focused on emotional dramas that unravel the resentment and stories they had. " He added that "I wanted to give it universal fun by applying fantasy and roco to the historical tone."

In fact, 'Goong' focuses on realistic makeup and live-action production rather than CG, and tries to differentiate it with a ghost description that creates a story and stimulates compassion rather than a simple fear. Director Yoon said, `After all, ghosts have emotions. It is designed to allow the public to empathize with their stories."

The genre master will continue the lineage of SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 'Going Palace' will premiere on SBS at 9:50 p.m. on the 18th.
