'Guigung' is a fantasy romantic comedy in which a young girl who rejects the fate of a shaman and a young girl named Kang Cheol-i, who is embedded in her first love Yun Gap, confront each other. With its unique worldview and rapid development, it has gained word of mouth and is captivating the small screen.
Based on Nielsen Korea, the viewership for the first time recorded 9.2% in both the nation and the metropolitan area and 10.7% in a moment, recording the best first broadcast performance among SBS dramas in 2025. After topping the weekly mini-series ratings, Netflix TV ranked No. 1 in five Asian countries, including South Korea (based on Netflix Patrol, April 22). It proved its content competitiveness by ranking No. 1 in the integrated content rankings in the 4th week of April of the OTT recommendation platform KinoLights.
At the center of this popularity are the main actors Yook Sung-jae and Kim Ji-yeon. Yook Sung-jae plays the role of Yoon Gap, a prosecutor, and Lee Mugi Steel in his body, and he cheerfully unravels the wide spectrum of the two roles. He also naturally digested the details of Bing's acting and exaggerated settings unique to the fantasy genre, reaffirming the title of 'Fantasy Unbeatable'.
Kim Ji-yeon rejected the fate of a shaman and took on her first fantasy challenge as Yeori, who lives as a master of love (glasses). It is attracting favorable reviews from viewers by delicately expressing Yeori characters who have both the pulpit and mystery of fighting against ghosts.
In particular, in the second episode, which aired on the 19th, Lee Mugi's left-handed adaptor, which took its first step in the human world, unfolded, and Yeori struggled to save his soul by listening to Yoon Gap's soul voice. In the meantime, it was revealed that the magnetism of the atom (Park Jae-joon) was the work of the octopuses, raising tensions by signaling a full-fledged confrontation between Yeori and Kang Chul.
