SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Going Palace' (scripted by Yoon Soo-jung/directed by Yoon Seong-sik) is a fantasy rom-co in which a shaman who rejects the fate of a young girl and Lee Ji-gun, trapped in the body of Yeo-ri's first love Yoon Gap, are confronted by eight ears who have a grudge against the royal family and his body and soul are twisted tightly. In the play, Kim Ji-yeon played the role of a shaman, Yeo-ri (Kim Ji-yeon), creating tension against the eight ears by solving the story of the resentful demons as well as shining determined eyes.
On the morning of the 9th, Kim Ji-yeon met with Sports Chosun at a certain place in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and shared her growth as an actor with her impressions of the end of SBS' Friday-Saturday drama 'Going Palace'.
Kim Jiyeon "I watched the last episode with all the staff, and I was able to end it so happily because they made the ending."," he said, expressing his feelings about the end of the show. He said that the viewership of the first episode of 'Guigong' was higher than expected. "I was so nervous that I couldn't sleep well, but the company congratulated me a lot, so I was able to start and finish in a good mood."
When asked if there was any burden on the occult fantasy genre, Kim Ji-yeon said, "I originally liked fantasy movies, so the material itself came to be interesting"It was not easy to memorize the scriptures or learn to dance, but I'm proud that it came out well," he said. In fact, he received shamanic advice for reading practice and practiced by attaching the scriptures to the refrigerator and the background screen. He also learned Korean dance separately and devoted himself to the preparation enough to shoot.
During the filming, he also released an episode that he slept with a prop and an armament on the table. After watching the movie 'Manshin', I heard that shamans were looking for ghosts with sound, so I was scared because I felt like I heard a sound at night," he said with a smile. He cited the scene of 'Hwadeok Chasa' as the most difficult scene during filming. He said "The Hwadeok Chasa scene, which I filmed for three days and night, was the hardest, but it was memorable."
As for the relationship with the counterpart, Yook Sung-jae, "Since I was a trainee, I was able to comfortably deal with him because I was a friend. It was difficult to imagine and act because it was my first time in the fantasy genre, but the director and Sungjae helped me a lot." He laughed, saying that acting romance was more awkward because he was a friend. "I looked at his eyes and said lines, and I thought, 'He looked like this.'"
Kim Ji-yeon, who said she has grown a lot through this work as an actress in her ninth year, said, "This work was really difficult. However, this work gave me the courage to be able to do any genre." "Now, I want to try not only the characters that I can do well, but also the challenge of showing new results."," he said, expressing his determination for the future.
Then "I went to the year-end ceremony for the first time last year, and I attended as an MC. I wanted to sit in the candidate seat this year," he added.
Lastly, when watching a drama, I hope it's seen only as a character, not as the main body of Kim Ji-yeon," he said, revealing his goal as an actor.
Meanwhile, 'Going Palace' was also successful in the global box office, ranking No. 1 in ratings during the same time period of the previous episode. In the final episode, which aired on the 7th, it ended with an 11.0% viewership rating based on Nielsen Korea's nationwide paid households.
