Director Danny Boyle, who directed the legendary zombie movie '28 Days Later', expressed his feelings about returning as a follow-up in 23 years.

The movie "28 Years Later" held a video press conference on the 18th. Director Danny Boyle attended the meeting to tell the story of the work.

Released on the 19th, '28 Years Later' is a story about the extreme fear of Spike (R.P. Williams), a boy born in Holy Island, where some survivors live in complete isolation after leaving the island for the first time in his life and stepping into the virus-enforced mainland. Director Danny Boyle and screenwriter Alex Garland of '28 Days Later' (2003), who announced the start of the series, gathered expectations again.

First, Danny Boyle told Korean fans "It's too bad I can't go to Korea in person because I'm in London, England right now."," he said in greeting. "The script was good, and there was an amazing story in it," he said of how he was able to direct "28 Days Later"."There was a pandemic called COVID that we experienced worldwide, and the scenes shown in '28 days later' were not at all out of touch with reality. When we all stepped out the door, we could actually face an empty street. He also explained, "Because of the Brexit of the UK, which was separated from the EU (European Union), it was naturally included in the movie."

He also thanked his fans for waiting for the sequel to '28 Days Later' for a long time. Director Danny Boyle "I did the first episode with Alex Garland, and I thought it would be nice to do this project again. It also brought the anger virus that appeared in the first episode, and explored how the results led to it. I'm confident that many people will be able to enjoy it because a new story will appear in '28 years from now.'"

The biggest strength of '28 years later' was the original setting and immersive experience. Director Danny Boyle said, `A lot of fans liked that part. It's often called 'zombie water', but in our movie, it's called an infected person. It has become a movie that redefines zombie stuff as it shows how infected people behave. Fans also liked how the survivors lived. The more interesting point here is that not only humans but also viruses are trying to survive. Through this work, we plan to interestingly show the results of the evolution of infected people and three to four types of how they have changed. "The actors' acting and creative background setting have also become important factors in increasing the immersion of the play."

Also on '28 Years Later' was Killian Murphy, who won the 96th Academy Award for Best Actor for 'Oppenheimer', as executive producer. He made a strong impression by playing the leading role of Jim in the previous film '28 Days Later'.

Director Danil Boyle said `Killian Murphy is the heart of the film. He didn't appear in person, but he worked as an executive producer'28 Years Later' is a total of three episodes, including the second and third films to be released next year, and Kylian Murphy connects them. The second point of connection is the infected. Infected people appear in the movie, but it has evolved in a slightly different form than before. The first infected people we saw were violent and fast, but the infected people in '28 years later' are a little different. First, there is an infected person who crawls on the floor and eats insects. It's passive, but it's very dangerous to touch. In addition, there is an infected person who has learned how to eat to survive, although it is similar to the existing infected person. They have become more dangerous because they hunt in groups. Next came a leader called Alpha, who is a threat as if he had been given steroids. I want the audience to check out the last infected person at the theater," he said.

Finally, director Danny Boyle said, "I hope that "28 Years Later" will be remembered by audiences as a thrilling and terrifying film."There are parts that are unexpectedly touching, and I want you to think about what is humanity?','What sustains humanity?','How do we protect humanity in extreme situations?'," he said of the wind.
