Lee Bo-young and Kang Ki-young foretell the aftermath of the 'last secret meeting' that turns the peaceful beach upside down.
MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Merry Kills People' (written by Lee Soo-ah, directed by Park Joon-woo), which will premiere on August 1, is a suspense drama about a doctor who helps untreatable patients and a detective who tracks them.
Lee Bo-young plays Woo So-jung, an emergency medical doctor who helps assisted death at the border between life and death, and Kang Ki-young plays Choi Dae-hyun, a helper who crosses warmth and seriousness with Woo So-jung (Lee Bo-young), who helps patients die of assisted death. Expectations are high on what meaningful topics the two people with a solid acting spectrum will throw through assisted death.
In this regard, Lee Bo-young and Kang Ki-young are seen visiting the serene beach with Son Sook, drawing attention. The scene where Woo So-jung and Choi Dae-hyun (Kang Ki-young) face Lee Eun-young (Son Sook), who is about to make the last choice, among the rocks by the quiet sea where no one is coming or going. Woo So-jung and Choi Dae-hyun calmly lead the conversation with Lee Eun-young at eye level, while Lee Eun-young pats Choi Dae-hyun's hand and smiles subtly.

In particular, Woo So-jung does not take her eyes off Lee Eun-young with a heavy look, and Choi Dae-hyun focuses on Lee Eun-young with a warm expression as if she does not want to miss a word. Attention is focusing on what kind of heavy tension Woo So-jung, Choi Dae-hyun and Lee Eun-young, who stand on the border between life and death on the quiet beach where even the sound of waves has stopped, will convey, and what the storm will be like in the future.
On the other hand, Lee Bo-young and Kang Ki-young exploded their overwhelming acting skills that made everyone hold their breath in the scene of the last secret meeting on the beach, which Lee Eun-young chose as her favorite place in the play. The tranquil beach, rough-cut rock cliffs, and even a slightly turbulent sea breeze have increased the level of immersion in the scene. Lee Bo-young expressed Woo So-jung's complex feelings with anguish in an understated tone, and Kang Ki-young conveyed Choi Dae-hyun's feelings with a warm smile. While Son Sook's calm lines resonated, Lee Bo-young and Kang Ki-young's acting added density, resulting in a high-quality scene.
