Senior Judge Huh Jung-in of the Daegu District Court sentenced Baek to a fine of 2 million won for violating (defamation) and insulting the Act on Promotion of Information and Communication Network Utilization and Information Protection. The trial was held behind closed doors for reasons such as personal protection of victims, and the prosecution demanded a fine of 2 million won at the final trial, and the court accepted it.
The victim, Sang-cheol, criticized me by manipulating and disseminating private conversations between Baek and the people around him, saying, `The long legal dispute has ended.' Not only me, but also my family and acquaintances suffered a great deal of damage" he vented. "I hope this ruling will not cure all the pain, but at least it will be a message that the law works properly.""We will hold the accomplices accountable and wait and see."," he added.
"Based on this criminal judgment, civil claims for damages will continue," said Sangcheol's legal representative, emphasizing that "we will strictly hold legal responsibility for future illegal activities."
