Mystery film 'Face' (directed by Yeon Sang-ho and produced by Wow Point) was invited to the 50th Toronto International Film Festival in September.

With the release of 'Face', which is a combination of faces representing the Korean film industry, in September, it has been officially invited to the special presentation section of the 50th Toronto International Film Festival, which will be held from September 4 to 14.

Director Yeon Sang-ho, who captivated the world beyond Korea by being invited to the Cannes Film Festival starting with the first animated feature "King of Pigs" and the movie "Train to Busan" and "Penvan" was officially invited to the Toronto Film Festival for the third time after his previous film "Face" with his live-action film "Face" that he wrote and drew in 2018.

Along with the Cannes Film Festival, the Berlin International Film Festival, and the Venice International Film Festival, the 50th Toronto Film Festival, the largest film festival in North America, will be released at the world premiere, introducing anticipated films from all over the world and being invited to a special presentation section highlighting outstanding works from various genres.

In the past, this section has introduced films that have been recognized for both cinematic and popularity, such as 'Decision to Break Up'Lady'Guidelines'Secret Agent'. Regarding the invitation of 'Face', Giovanna Fulby, chief programmer of the Toronto International Film Festival, said, `We are pleased to invite Yeon Sang-ho, one of Korea's most pioneering and influential directors, to introduce his new work 'Face' in Toronto. Based on Yeon Sang-ho's first graphic novel 'Face', this work shows a bold turning point in Yeon Sang-ho's filmography, but also highlights the intense energy and moral complexity that has penetrated his works. It is a great honor to be able to present such a powerful film at the Toronto Film Festival for the first time, raising expectations for the film.

The three first posters and the first trailer of 'Face', which contains the mystery surrounding the face that has been erased from the world for 40 years, also draw attention.

The poster released shows the scenery and characters of the Cheonggyecheon clothing factory in the 1970s, focusing on the silhouette of Park Jung-min, a young man who is blind but lives by selling stamps, and Jung Young-hee, a female worker at a clothing factory whose face is not revealed.

In the first trailer released together, Park Jung-min, who took on a new challenge with a two-person role, and Kwon Hae-hyo, who played the blind role for the first time in his actor's life, catch the eye at once. Lim Young-kyu (Kwon Hae-hyo), a blind man who never saw the world, and his son Lim Dong-hwan (Park Jung-min), a father-in-law who makes the world's most beautiful painting, face the white bone body of his wife and mother, who went missing 40 years ago, raise questions about the story of 'face' to be developed in the future.

Then, along with the hidden truth surrounding the face of a woman named Jung Young-hee (Shin Hyun-bin), who has never seen her husband or son, the appearance of Lim Sung-jae, who turned into Baek Joo-sang, the president of the Cheonggyecheon clothing factory where his mother worked, and Han Ji-hyun, who turned into a documentary PD Kim Soo-jin, who delves into the death of Jung Young-hee, make us look forward to what events will unfold in the past and present, respectively.
