'Esquire', which will premiere at 10:40 p.m. on August 2, is an office growth drama in which Kang Hyo-min (Jeong Chae-yeon), a new lawyer who is not good at social life, grows into a complete lawyer through Yoon Seok-hoon (Lee Jin-wook), a cold but competent partner lawyer.
The disclosed relationship map closely contained multi-layered links between the Songmu team, the corporate team, and external figures in the law firm Yulim. The Songmu team, with Kang Hyo-min, Lee Jin-woo (Lee Hak-joo), and Heo Min-jeong (Jeon Hye-bin) at the center of Yoon Seok-hoon, foretells pleasant team play and passion. Yoon Seok-hoon's strong aides Kim Yul-sung (Hong Seo-joon) and Kwon Na-yeon (Kim Yeo-jin) will lead the juniors by protecting the foundation of Yulim.
On the other hand, the corporate team led by Ko Tae-seop (Park Jung-pyo), the son of Ko Seung-chul (Kim Eui-sung), creates constant friction with the Songmu team and raises tension in the jungle. In particular, he established himself as an axis of conflict with Choi Hee-chul (Kwon Seung-woo) and Hong Do-yoon (Park Hyung-soo), signaling a head-on confrontation with Yoon Seok-hoon.
The narrative of family and friends leading Kang Hyo-min's growth also adds interest. Choi Eun-hee (Yoon Yoo-sun), a law school professor's mother, and Kang Il-chan (Cho Seung-yeon), a judge's father, are key figures who shaped her beliefs and values. In addition, alumni Oh Sang-cheol (Pyo Jae-gyeom), Choi Ho-yeon (Lee Joo-yeon), and Ji Kook-hyun (Kim Kang-min) will represent real youth growing together and create empathy.
In the play, Kang Hyo-min's roommates Han Seol-ah (Kwon Ah-reum) and Lee Ji-eun (Lee Seung-yeon) show off their Tiki-taka chemistry with drama T and drama F characters, respectively. Their daily lives, where realistic advice and emotional comfort will be alternated, also serve as an interesting factor.
In addition, Seo Yeon-soo (Han Jung-hyun), the financial team leader of Yulim, Jeong Ji-woong (Lee Jae-woo), the fair trade team leader, Han Sung-chan (Kang Sang-joon), a member of the competition law firm Leanser and Kang Hyo-min's boyfriend, and Min So-ra (Lee Da-eun), a lawyer, will join the group to fill more colorful conflicts and cases.
The production team said, "The narrative created by tangled characters colliding with each other's beliefs and values will convey realistic empathy and fun to viewers. Please watch their hot growth period unfolding in and out of the courtroom and office."
