Coupang Play announced on the 29th that it will broadcast all games in Korea of the '2025 FIBA Men's Basketball Asia Cup' to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from August 5 to 17. Sixteen Asian countries will participate in this competition, and Coupang Play plans to meet basketball fans' expectations by broadcasting major games live together.
The South Korean national team was in Group A along with Australia, Qatar and Lebanon in the finals, and will play against Australia at 5 p.m. on August 6 (Wednesday), followed by Qatar (5 p.m.) on the 8th and Lebanon (11:50 p.m.) on the 10th. The top teams in each group will advance to the tournament to determine the final winner.
Castor Han Jang-hee and commentator Son Dae-beom will be in charge of the broadcast. The two broadcasts will analyze the flow of the game in depth based on their abundant basketball commentary experience and deliver a vivid sense of reality to fans.
The national team advanced to the finals as second place in the group with 4 wins and 2 losses in the preliminary round in February. In the finals, KBL's Lee Jung-hyun, Yoo Ki-sang and Ha Yoon-ki, as well as overseas players Lee Hyun-joong and Yeo Jun-seok, aim to win the championship for the first time in 28 years since 1997. Expectations for the final performance are also rising as they have recently won four warm-up matches against Japan and Qatar.
Coupang Play previously broadcast the entire game of 'FIBA Women's Basketball Asia Cup' live in July, and the Korean women's basketball ranked fourth in the competition to secure qualification for the World Cup Asian qualifying round. Fans are paying attention to whether Korean basketball's potential can continue in this men's competition.
