SBS 'Stove League' Is Being Remade...It's kamenashi kazu for the seat of Namgoongmin

The Japanese version of 'Stove League' will be produced. SBS's flagship box office production has been remade as a joint production between Korea and Japan, and has started to target the global market.

Studio S, SBS Media Group's drama production and distribution company, joined hands with NTT Docomo Studio & Live, Japan's largest telecommunications company, and began producing the Japanese version of 'Stove League' in July.

Broadcasting on SBS in 2019, 'Stove League' is a sports office product that tells the story of the new general manager Baek Seung-soo (Nam Goong-min) being appointed to the baseball team 'Dreams', which has been at the bottom for four consecutive years, and has been successful with a maximum viewership of 20.8%.

This remake goes beyond just selling copyrights, and Studio S and Japanese production companies jointly produce and conduct global business. Reflecting Japan's unique baseball culture and sentiment, it aims for a remake that both Korean and Japanese viewers can sympathize with.

Kazuya Kamenashi, a former KAT-TUN member and actor, was selected as the main character Baek Seung-soo. He is also well-known in Korea for producing "Kokusen 2" and "Produce Nobuta" and is excited for a new challenge in that it is a joint project between Korea and Japan." I'll add a Japanese color to the fine original work to make it elaborate," he said.

Director Ruto Toichiro of the 'Ajae's Love' series, which caused a social syndrome in Japan, will direct. The production team expects how deeply the `stove league' will resonate in Japan, where baseball is a national sport," he said, heralding the expansion of Korea-Japan joint content.

Studio S said "We plan to spread the power of Korean dramas to the world through various joint productions between Korea and Japan in the future."
