Park Ji-hoon Takes on Culinary Boot Camp in Military Comedy Drama

Park Ji-hoon's new drama 「Becoming a chef legend」 will be released on TVing.

The original TVing series becoming a chef legend (played by Choi Ryong, directed by Cho Nam-hyung) will be released for the first time in 2026 is a military-related comedy drama in which a cook who wears a kitchen knife instead of a gun and an apron instead of a bullet becomes a legend along the quest screen to save his life.

Based on the popular Naver webtoon of the same name 'becoming a chef legend' (writing/picture Jay Robin/Lee Jin-soo), the realistic story from the experience of Choi Ryong, a former cook, and director Cho Nam-hyung's unique and sophisticated production meet to foreshadow a pleasant laugh and touching emotion. On top of that, actors Park Ji-hoon, Yoon Kyung-ho, Han Dong-hee and Lee Hong-nae are drawing attention as individual soldiers in the play's background.

First, Park Ji-hoon played the role of Kang Sung-jae, a private and cook who had just moved to the Kangrim Post. Kang Sung-jae will follow a strange voice and accept a former chef's quest after being reduced from a top trainee to a soldier of interest. Attention is focusing on whether Kang Sung-jae will be able to become a legendary cook who will be responsible for the diet of the ROK Armed Forces, and on Kang Sung-jae's level-up challenge that Park Ji-hoon will portray.

Yoon Kyung-ho plays the role of Park Jae-young, the boss of the 4th Company, to which Kang Sung-jae belongs. Park Jae-young, whose signature strong dialect is "a time bomb that moves completely," is an administrative officer nicknamed "glamorous events and accidents." He has failed to get promoted every time, so he is unable to escape his life as a boss, and he suffers from the emergence of problematic recruits. Yoon Kyung-ho's passionate performance, which will add realism to Park Jae-young's windy military life, is drawing attention.

Han Dong-hee plays the role of Lieutenant Cho Ye-rin, the head of the Kangrimcho. Han Dong-hee is an ugly duckling from the female college school district group who has a straightforward personality that says what she has to say. For some reason, he was appointed to the head of the Kangrim post and spent a quiet life, while living a variety of days due to the transfer of recruits. I am curious about the character Cho Ye-rin, who will be in charge of girl crush at Kanglim Post with warm charisma.

Lee Hong-nae will transform into Senior Cook Sergeant Yoon Dong-hyun. Yoon Dong-hyun is the most ignorant person (who doesn't know the taste) of all time and is the main culprit who brought the dark age to the restaurant at the Kangrim post. While being careful of falling leaves with just 100 days left until discharge, he forebears that the rest of his military life will not be smooth as a strange successor comes in. As a result, attention is being paid to Lee Hong-nae's performance, which will complete Yoon Dong-hyun's infinite run toward discharge.

In this way, 'becoming a chef legend' is expected to have interesting fun by returning the weekend, getting up the earliest, finishing the duty the latest, and telling the daily life of the cook who is responsible for three meals for the soldiers with the subject of the game quest. In particular, it plans to present fresh attractions such as a feast of various foods, focusing on the process of growing up to become a legend.

The original TVing series Becoming a Master Soldier Legend, which will energize the Korean people with jjambap, an essential item to boost soldiers' morale, will be unveiled for the first time in 2026.
