Chu Ja-hyun plays Chlora, a famous shaman and the old new daughter of General Dongcheon (Kim Mi-kyung), in tvN's Monday-Tuesday drama 『Gyeonwoo and the Fairy" (played by Yang Ji-hoon, directed by Kim Yong-wan), leading the narrative with a cool yet heavy energy.
In the last broadcast, Chlorine's past and present intersect, and the complex narrative and psychology of the character are depicted in three dimensions. The conflict between the two characters began in earnest when Naerim-gut, who tried to make the child a living body during his lifetime, was stopped by General Dongcheon, and the scene of taking out a picture of Gyeon-woo (Chu Young-woo) as a sacrifice at the abandoned house in Bongsu-dong raised the tension of the play to its peak.
In particular, the line "You didn't buy me a pair of shoes and a pair of pants, but you prepared the coffin" was the moment when Chu Ja-hyun's unique understated acting shone. It further highlighted the mystery of the character by delivering the character's emotions intensely without revealing intense emotions.
Chu Ja-hyun is impressing viewers by slowly building a person who is not easily read as Chlorine through his relationship with people around him and adjusting the atmosphere. His performance, which changed the atmosphere and center of gravity of the play, is receiving favorable reviews.
Meanwhile, Chu Ja-hyun's appearance 'Gyeonwoo and the Fairy' airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 p.m. on tvN.
