Park Yong-woo met with Sports Chosun at somewhere in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 15th and responded to the end of the LG Uplus STUDIO X+U mid-form drama 「The Hunter with the Mess」 (directed by Junghoon Lee Cho Han-young, Park Hyun-shin, Hong Yeon-i, and Jin Se-hyuk). He made a strong impression by decomposing from 'The Hunter with the Mess' (directed by Junghoon Lee, scripted by Cho Han-young, Park Hyun-shin, Hong Yeon-i, and Jin Se-hyuk) into a psychopathic serial killer and the true culprit of the tailor's murder 'Yoon Jo-kyun'.
Park Yong-woo rewatches "The Hunter with the Mess" and even though I come out, I don't think it's me. It only looks like the character itself. I've been acting for a long time, but I still see it from the audience's perspective." He says "There's a distance between the work and me. That's why it's interesting."
Yoon Jo-kyun, played by him, is usually a gentle neighbor, but in reality, he is the true culprit of the serial murder case. Park Yong-woo left a strong impression on viewers by convincingly unraveling Yoon Jo-kyun's duality and distorted paternity. "I had the pleasure of being able to act out actions I would never do" he said. "Yoon Jo-kyun is not just a villain, but a man of deficiency and loneliness. In the end, people believe that good and evil coexist.'
Park Yong-woo's acting goes beyond simple settings and is in the details. He says "It's even scarier when a monster demands a moral attitude"I gave a lot of ideas to the director, and I tend to find emotions and expressions together while rehearsing on the spot."
As for Yoon Jo-kyun's inner side "It seems to be loneliness after all. Because he was the only one who was obsessed with his daughter. I think that feeling came out with laughter." "It's a monster, but it seems like he wanted to be proved of love..." he explained.
How did he interact with Park Joo-hyun, who appears as his daughter in the play. He "In fact, I couldn't have enough conversations on the spot because I was working on three works at the same time. That's why I was very disappointed." In the meantime, "Physical time was extremely short, and there was a lot of regret due to the combination of tight filming in the cold weather." If I had discussed more with the directors and actors, I think the result of expression would have been different."
Then "There were many emotionally difficult scenes of actor Park Joo-hyun, so I tried to approach him first and listen to him a lot." "I kept asking what kind of emotions I wanted to express and if there was anything I wanted to change my lines..." he explained.
There was also a story about KBS 2TV's weekend drama 'Eunsu Good Day', which is scheduled to air in the second half of this year. He turns into a drug and ace detective, Jang Tae-gu. Together with Lee Young-ae and Kim Young-kwang, he leads the center of the play, adding to the weight of the anticipated work in the second half of the year.
He has a long relationship with Lee Young-ae, who will work together. Park Yong-woo "I met him more than 20 years ago in MBC "Gan Station." I remember being together at the last party, and it was so nice to see you again this time. The senior remained the same as before."
Looking back on his long acting career, he said, `I still have a lot of work to do. I think this is the beginning." As an actor, he says it is important to acknowledge deficiency, and he thinks "What's wrong with my face and skin?" In the past, I thought "What's wrong with me" but now I think about how to approach it in my own way. That way eventually makes it unique."
In the meantime, Park Yong-woo "I don't even monitor much these days. I want to express my first feelings in the field in a living state as much as possible. That's how I'm having fun with acting now." In the end, it seems that the most important thing is not to deceive me and to act honestly as best as I can for myself.
Meanwhile, 'The Hunter with the Mess' starring Park Yong-woo can be streamed on U+tv, U+Mobiletv and Disney+, a global online video service (OTT).
