Son Yejin and Jo Yuri to Lead Netflix's New K-pop Drama 'Variety'

Netflix has confirmed the production of a new series 'Variety' and revealed the casting lineup of Son Ye-jin and Cho Yu-ri. 'Variety' is a Netflix series in which the entertainment representative who organized Korea's best idol group 'Se-eun' and the enthusiastic fans 'Seung-hee' and the desires of people surrounding them are diverse.
'Variety' is a new film directed by Kim Yong-hoon, who received favorable reviews from critics and viewers through the Netflix series 'Mask Girl' and the film 'Want to Catch a Straw', and he himself directed and wrote the film. Director Kim Yong-hoon, who has shown sensual mise-en-scène, directing that heightens the fun of the crime drama genre, and strong storytelling, is expected to present an unconventional story once again, revealing various human groups and their desires in the glamorous K-pop entertainment industry.
The best entertainment representative in Korea 'Se-eun' was played by actress Son Ye-jin, who doubles the immersion of her work with her irreplaceable character ability. With excellent planning ability, 'Se-eun' is a person who does not hesitate to make cold decisions for the purpose and throws everything out to renew the contract with the idol group he has raised himself. 'Seunghee' is a character who follows every move by any means to meet his favorite member. It is questionable whether Cho Yu-ri, who was previously on the cutting board due to the controversy over her acting skills, will be able to portray 'Seunghee', which reveals a strong obsession with twisted love and hatred. Here, a large number of veteran and new actors are cast in the characters surrounding 'Se-eun' and 'Seung-hee', raising expectations for a variety of acting ensembles.
