In tvN 'Seocho-dong', Kang Yoo-seok is well-received for portraying Cho Chang-won in three dimensions. Beyond simply performing in court scenes, he delicately captured the appearance of quietly examining fellow lawyers in the Hyeongmin Building and giving consideration in an invisible place, drawing sympathy and persuasion for the character at the same time.
In the 7th and 8th episodes, which were recently broadcasted, Kang Yoo-seok's presence in the play was clearly revealed with only his sincere gaze and restrained acting tone. Cho Chang-won was deeply immersed in the case by defending Do Mi-kyung (Hwang Jung-min), a public defender who was falsely accused of being involved in the voice phishing case, and on the other hand, he played a warm role among lawyers who went out of their minds for Kang Hee-ji (Moon Ga-young), whose heart collapsed in the case of his father Kim Myung-ho (Kim Tae-hoon).
In particular, Cho Chang-won calmly analyzed the situation of the victim and defendant, Domi-kyung, reviewed the records until late at night, and did his best to prove his innocence. The gaze that does not conclude the victim as a simple 'perpetrator' and the attitude of pointing out the nature of the matter without being swayed by emotions were convincingly completed with Kang Yoo-seok's unique detailed emotional acting and solid inner expression.
The scene in which Domi-kyung came carefully after being convicted and asked "Should I go to prison if I can't pay a fine?" culminated in the play. After a moment of hesitation, Cho Chang-won's answer of "I'll give you a hand" showed the face of a real lawyer giving out a warm hand in the cold reality, and Kang Yoo-seok raised the temperature of the play with a light yet resonant look. Short lines and silence without excessive emotion left a deep lingering impression, conveying the character's sense of helplessness, responsibility, and regret.

As such, Kang Yoo-seok not only portrays Cho Chang-won as an outstanding lawyer, but also completes him as a person who does not lose dignity and respect in human-to-human relationships, clearly showing how carefully he has designed this character. This is why viewers are also giving generous sympathy and favorable reviews to Cho Chang-won, who he embodied.
Through this work, Kang Yoo-seok once again proves the true value of 'quiet strength'. It depicts Cho Chang-won, who does not lose the balance between faith and compassion, heavy and realistic, firmly holding the center of gravity of each play.
Kang Yoo-seok, who is showing extraordinary performance in 'Seocho-dong' with his restrained emotional line, convincing acting, and not excessive but noticeable presence. Expectations are higher for Cho Chang-won's story that he will unfold in the rest of the episode.
