On the 31st, JTBC's new Saturday drama 'esquire' was held at the Link Hall on the 2nd floor of The Link Hotel in Guro-gu, Seoul. Director Kim Jae-hong, Lee Jin-wook, Jung Chae-yeon, Lee Hak-ju and Jeon Hye-bin attended the meeting to talk about the drama.
'Esquire' is an office growth drama in which Kang Hyo-min (Jeong Chae-yeon), a new lawyer at Yulim, a law firm that is just and courageous, but not good at social life, is growing into a full-fledged lawyer through Yoon Seok-hoon (Lee Jin-wook), a partner lawyer who emits cold air to the world.
While tvN 'Seocho-dong' is airing at the same time depicting a similar lawyer's story, director Kim Jae-hong expressed confidence, saying 'esquire' is different from the existing court drama'.
He then said "The broadcast time was not our choice. In the case of other dramas, there is a structural difference as it deals with the internal story of a big law firm that is one of the top five law firms," he said.
He continued "I've directed two court plays in the past, but when I saw the writer's script this time, I thought 'This is real" He explained that the brightness of the litigation case is detailed and high-order, saying that he is an incumbent lawyer.
In particular, "'esquire' consists of a total of 12 parts and is a one-episode format in which different events appear each time. "In those events, there is a theme of 'love". There are various forms of love in the world, and it is a story in which lawyers carefully care for those who have been hurt by it."
JTBC 'Squire' will premiere at 10:40 p.m. on August 2.
