Through the original Genie TV drama 'My Star', which will be released for the first time on August 18, Uhm Jung-hwa will return as a top star with a career break 'Bongja'. Bong Cheong-ja, who has skipped the years to wake up as a middle-aged woman, is also a legendary actor who dominated the entertainment industry in the past.
The movie is a romantic comedy in which a top star who becomes an ordinary old lady overnight performs a 'Comeback Show' that crosses tears and laughter. It depicts the process of a volunteer who has skipped 25 years without losing his memory and struggling to regain his past sparkling self.
In the play, Uhm Jung-hwa plays a variety of emotional lines, from the audience who can't handle even a smartphone properly to the actor who hasn't cooled down his passion for acting. Song Seung-heon plays the role of a police officer 'Dok Go-cheol', who helps such a volunteer, and reunites with Uhm Jung-hwa after 10 years.
Director Choi Young-hoon, who showed sensuous production with 'Good Casting'Wonder Woman', and author Park Ji-ha, 'She Who Differs Day and Night' add to the expectation.
