Disney+'s first original historical drama series 'Takryu' raised expectations by revealing the behind-the-scenes story of the creation of the work and a fresh world view that was not seen in existing historical dramas.

'Takryu', which will be released for the first time on September 26, is an action drama of young people pioneering their fate in their own way to reverse the chaotic world against the backdrop of Gyeonggang, where all the money and supplies of Joseon gather. Chun Sung-il, who opened a new horizon in historical drama with 'Chuno', has returned to historical drama for the first time in 14 years and is expected to fascinate viewers once again with his unique speedy development and meticulous emotional line.

Chun Sung-il has been agonizing for a long time, starting with one line, "'Blurry water, cloudy times, and waiting for blue water.'"I was inspired by the lyrics of "Kang Heo Darim's song "Monologue" "Don't let despair-weary people hold me anymore" I thought I should write a story of youth that does not collapse even in despair," he said, explaining the background of his writing.

The center of this work is the space called 'Gyeonggang' and the survival method of the common people living in it. At that time, the group called 'Walpae', which dominated the ferry and the market, is a key axis in the play, controlling the order of merchants from hiring workers, and vividly recreating the Joseon common society by imposing various taxes, including grape syrup and collusion. Unlike existing historical dramas centered on royalty and aristocrats, 'Takryu' depicts conflicts related to the lives of ordinary people and heralds a different resonance.

Director Chu Chang-min, who attracted 10 million viewers with the production of 「Gwanghae, the Man Who Became a King」, is expected to complete the well-made historical drama. Rowoon, Shin Ye-eun, Park Seo-ham, and Park Ji-hwan fill the play with individual characters and dense acting, respectively. It has also been officially invited to the 30th Busan International Film Festival 'On Screen' section, drawing attention even before its release.

Meanwhile, the Disney+ original series 'Turbul' will be released twice a week, starting with episodes 1 to 3 on September 26th, with a total of nine episodes.
