KBS2's new Saturday miniseries "The Last Summer" (written by Jeon Yu-ri, directed by Min Yeon-hong) is a remodeled romance drama that unfolds when a man and a woman, who have been friends since childhood, face the truth of their first love hidden in Pandora's box.
Director Min Yeon-hong, who has been recognized for his sensuous directing skills through the series "They Were" and "Insider", and writer Jeon Yu-ri, who is drawing a milestone in romance with her brilliant writing skills in the drama "Last Summer" and "Radio Romance", are in sync. In addition to this, the fresh combination of meeting Lee Jae-wook and Choi Sung-eun is making many drama fans excited. In particular, Lee Jae-wook and head coach Min Yeon-hong are also eye-catching in that they are working together for the second time since 'Royal Loader'.
Lee Jae-wook will play the role of talented architect Baek Do-ha and the veiled character Baek Do-young in the play, challenging to play the first two roles in his life. The twin brothers live in the U.S. and the older brother in Korea due to their parents' divorce when they were young. Doha, who stays in Korea for only 21 days every summer vacation, spends time with her twin brother and father's friend's daughter, Song Ha-kyung, at a peanut house built by her father. However, the three, who are inseparable, face an irreversible change in the wake of an incident two years ago. Lee Jae-wook, who has been active in various genres such as dramas 'Tanggeum', 'Royal Lauder', 'Welcome' series, 'Dosol-la-la-sol', and 'Dosol-la-la-sol'Dosol-la-la-la-sol'Dosol-la-la-la-la'Dosol', will present the essence of romance through 'Last Summer'.
Choi Sung-eun plays Song Ha-kyung, an architectural official who wants to leave 'Fall Myun'. Ha-kyung, who grew up bickering with summer guest Doha next to a peanut restaurant as a child, feels favored with him as time goes by. But for Doha, who comes only in the summer, she can't give up easily and feels angry when she learns of the shock between her twin brothers as an adult. Choi Sung-eun, who boasts a strong sense of digestibility for each role in the drama 'Annara Sumanara', 'Monster', and 'SF8 - Cosmonaut Joan', foreshadows another charm in this work, portraying a professional public servant and a character with complex emotions from his past wounds.
Regarding this, the production team said, `Expectations are already high for the romance between trusted actors Lee Jae-wook and Choi Sung-eun,' adding, `We ask viewers to pay a lot of attention and love to the last Summer, which is full of various episodes such as the romance of the two characters, the unique subject of architecture that has not been covered in dramas, and the narratives of the characters surrounding the main characters.'
