Director Na Hong-jin was selected as the chairman of the competition section of the 30th Busan International Film Festival.

This year's Busan Film Festival will host the first award ceremony at the closing ceremony by establishing a new competition section and preparing a new Busan Award.

Na Hong-jin, a rising master representing Korea, was appointed as the chairman of the competition section of the monumental first year. Director Na Hong-jin will lead the screening of 14 major Asian works selected for the competition.

It will be joined by Hong Kong's world-renowned actor Yang Ga-hwi, India's world-renowned actor and director Nandita Das, Iran's New Wave's pioneering female director Margiye Meshkini, director Kogonada, who is also well-known to Cinephil for the film 'Columbus'After Yang', Indonesian producer Yulia Evina Bahara, who has expanded the base of Southeast Asian film production, and Korea's leading actor Han Hyo-joo, who has expanded to the global stage.

The jury consists of the best directors, actors, and producers of their time, who are active around the world. They will pay attention to the present and expandability of Asian films, which are the goals of the competition sector, while evaluating the completeness of each work, the director's vision, acting achievements, and artistic contributions in a balanced way.

The Busan Awards will be presented in a total of five categories, including the Grand Prize, Director Award, Special Jury Award, Actor Award, and Art Contribution Award, with a total of 110 million won in prize money.

The 30th Busan Film Festival, which is driving the heat of Busan by unveiling the judges in the competition sector, will be held for 10 days from the 17th to the 26th around the Seoul Cinema Center.
