Director Park Hoon-jung's new film invites the competition section of the sad tropical Chesses Film Festival

Director Park Hoon-jung, who is said to be a genre with a unique world view, has built a new world view including the new world 'New World' that opened a new era for Korean noir, the fresh character and action style 'Witch'; the official invitation to the Venice International Film Festival 'Night of Paradise'; and the original Disney+ series 'Treason' that fascinated viewers all over the world. His next film 'Sad Tropical' is officially invited to the Chesses International Fantastic Film Festival (hereinafter referred to as the Chesses Film Festival) and meets audiences from all over the world first.
The 58th Ciches Film Festival, which will be held from October 9 to October 19, has continued its fame as one of the world's top three fantastic film festivals along with the Brussels Fantastic Film Festival and the Fantasport International Film Festival since its launch as fantasy and horror film screening week in 1968.
At the Chesse Film Festival, which has established itself as one of the world's leading film festivals in genre films, "Sad Tropical" was officially invited to the Orbita section, where popular genre films such as thrillers, action, and black comedy compete. Various works from all over the world compete for the best picture award after being judged by an international jury, and recently, Korean films such as 'Veteran2'''Escape'''Hunt''''Battleship' have been invited to this section. In addition, director Park Hoon-jung's previous works 'Gwijong' and 'Daeho ' were screened in the same section, which is all the more meaningful for this invitation.
'Sad Tropical' will be screened for the first time in the world at the 1380-seat auditorium, the festival's main theater, and is expected to give audiences an overwhelming scale and intense immersion.
Angel Salah, executive chairman of the Chesses Film Festival, praised 'Sad Tropical' as a "stylish revenge play filled with an atmosphere of raw energy and innovative aesthetics that reconstructs the landscape of Korean thrillers." He also expressed his special trust in director Park Hoon-jung, saying, `The director who solidifies his position as a representative of contemporary Korean genre films.'
Sad Tropical is a story about a killer organization raised by a master who rules the rainforest, Sad Tropical children suspect each other and pledge blood revenge in the wake of an incident that will shake their existence. Lee Shin-young, Park Yoo-rim, and Kim Myung-min appeared, and director Park Hoon-jung of 'New World'Witch'Paradise Night' took the megaphone. It will be released in theaters next year.
