‘Shin's Project’ Ranks First in Ratings with Han Suk-kyu as Lead

Han Seok-kyu, a new concept negotiation hero, threw an intense bid to break through people's tightness.

In tvN's Monday-Tuesday drama 『New President Project" (played by Ban Ki-ri, directed by Shin Kyung-soo), which first aired on the 15th, former legend negotiator and current chicken restaurant president Shin Seok-kyu performed extraordinary activities, providing extreme immersion from the first broadcast.

President Shin, who calmly persuaded the man who tried to set himself on fire on the day and revealed the negotiator's true face from the beginning, took over the new judge Cho Philip (Bae Hyun-sung) as an employee to help with the request for arbitration of the dispute between the broadcasting station and the salted fish merchant from his old acquaintance, Kim Sang-geun (Kim Sang-ho).

In response, President Shin, along with Jo Philip, started to mediate disputes between salted fish merchants and broadcasting stations. President Shin tried to resolve the issue of complaints by merchants who demanded responsibility for false broadcasting by agreement, but the confrontation became sharper as the broadcasting station countered that it was a legitimate report based on a tip-off.

While there was little room for negotiation, Shin caught the suspicious situation. In the aftermath of the broadcast, a real estate was buying all the stores that were closed. President Shin asked his assistant and hacker Kim Soo-dong (Jung Eun-pyo) to check the books of real estate transactions, which raised tensions as he was chased by suspicious figures.

Thanks to Shin's unexpectedly brilliant motorcycle skills and friends who helped delivery employee Lee Si-on (Ire), Shin found out that a company planned to build a resort in the background of the incident. Shin immediately visited a company official to point out the fact and demanded clear compensation from market merchants.

However, the company did not only reject Shin's negotiation proposal, but also devised a scheme to remove him altogether. President Shin and Philip, who were moving for negotiations, were suddenly blocked by a truck that came in from the front and back and were forced to collide with the train at a desperate moment. The situation in which the roaring sound of the running train was getting closer and there was no clear way out made even the viewers hold their breath.

President Shin and Philip, who managed to escape by breaking the car window in extreme fear, were relieved to confirm each other's survival by breathing. And at that moment, President Shin unexpectedly burst into a cheerful laughter and shouted "I guess you didn't hear the rumor, I'm President Shin, President Shin!" to announce the birth of another hero. I'm curious about what kind of steps President Shin, who has become poisoned, will take against the evil people.

As such, 'New President Project' captivated viewers at once with the daily life of a friendly chicken restaurant and a wealth of attractions to and from the thrilling negotiation journey. In particular, the firm charisma hidden behind President Shin's slick appearance exploded at every moment of negotiation, giving a thrilling catharsis.

In addition, Tiki-taka of Han Seok-kyu (CEO Shin), Bae Hyun-sung (Jo Philip), and Ire (Lee Si-on), who are united as chicken restaurant executives and employees, added director Shin Kyung-soo's witty production that further enhances the breath and immersion of acting, enhancing the fun and pleasure of the play. The next story is already waiting to see how President Shin will resolve the world's disputes in the future.

The viewership of the first episode of the New President Project aired on this day averaged 6.5% and 7.9% for households in the metropolitan area, 5.9% and 7.3% for households nationwide. Both the metropolitan area and the national standard ranked first in cable and general service channels at the same time, and got off to a good start with the highest number among the first episodes of tvN's Monday-Tuesday drama in 2025. In addition, it proved its popularity in tvN's target 2049 male and female viewership, ranking first in cable, general programming, and all channels at the same time.
