In an interview with Sports Chosun on the morning of the 15th, Park Jung-min revealed a behind-the-scenes episode of the mystery film 'Face' (directed by Yeon Sang-ho, produced by Wow Point).
'Face' is a story about a blind man who becomes a craftsman in all fields, his son, and his wife and mother who have been buried for 40 years. Park Jung-min played two roles, including the youth of Lim Young-gyu, a blind artisan in the play, and his son Lim Dong-hwan.
Since announcing the sabbatical year this year, Park has been continuing various activities from publishers. He said, `The reason I declared the year of rest was because I wanted to get off the set. I think I enjoyed it enough thanks to you. I think there was a process of getting to know myself while doing something other than acting. I feel like I'm spending enough time that I intended"I felt like I was only going to the set one day. I thought this was good for Park Jung-min. I think I kept getting hit by the filming schedule. Can't a person work hard every day? Don't you want to sleep, lie down, and play. Then, there is a scene where the photographer can't do it. I lie because I find a moment when I roughly work hard. The moment came when I felt guilty and I wanted to try hard, but I felt like I was losing energy. Above all, it seemed like they were repeating the same acting. So I thought I'd take a break. When I left, I thought the shooting was the best. I don't regret my sabbatical, but I also think it's good to do my day job."
He said "When I started a business as a publishing company, I had to run on my feet as a human Park Jung-min, not as an actor Park Jung-min." I didn't want to show myself sitting in the back room as a person responsible for their results because I had to serve the writers. I don't know what the public will think in that regard, but from my point of view, the results are pretty good. It was good to spend this year as a publisher, promoting hard, and branding the publisher. I don't know if I can continue to work this hard, but I got a good result this year. Fortunately, it turned into a surplus. However, there was a lot of money spent compared to what was sold. I didn't make an astronomical amount of money, but I think I got enough profit to hire another employee and invest a little more in books to do what I want to do comfortably for a year or two."
He said "When you become an actor, you only have to work as an actor. Someone does something other than acting. Isn't there an agency as well as the scene? Someone supports me a lot so that I can act well. The bigger the roll, the more so. It takes care of you without getting hurt and cares about various things. Now that I'm the head of a publishing company, I think I'm trying to understand it while paying attention to the writers and employees. Knowing this won't make you too nice or better in personality, but I've learned the work of the people who support you."
Park Jung-min, who will make his comeback with the play `Life of Pi" in December, said "When the proposal for the play was first made, the CEO of the agency called. At that time, I was in Latvia to film 'Humint' (directed by Ryu Seung-wan), and he said he was worried after receiving the proposal from the CEO for the first time.
