Shin Eun-soo met with Sports Chosun at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul on the 3rd and said, `I memorized all the scripts even before filming, and I practiced by writing down the intonation (of the lines) one by one while looking at the iPad" he said.
The Netflix film 『A History of Confession』, which was released on the 29th of last month, is a youth romance that takes place in 1998 when 19-year-old girl Pak Se-ri plans an operation to straighten her malignant curly hair, a complex of a lifetime ahead of her lifelong confession, and is intertwined with transfer student Han Yoon-seok, director Nam Goong-sun of 『The Future of Ten Month』 took the megaphone. Shin Eun-soo played professional confessor Pak Se-ri with a 0% success rate.
Shin Eun-soo drew attention for his perfect acting in the Busan dialect in 『The History of Confession』. Regarding the preparation process for acting in dialect, he said "Before I went into shooting, I prepared with so much care that I memorized the entire script. In the field, the dialect teacher saw my acting and corrected it accordingly. I purposely didn't read the script in a book, and I wrote down all the intonation highs and lows while watching it on the iPad. Dialects seem to have rules, but they are different in height and detail for each word. In order to learn quickly, I made my own rules separately" he said.
In the previous drama 'Twinkle Watermelon', he also performed sign language acting. Shin Eun-soo seems to be in a completely different language, as is the sign language acting of "Twinkle Watermelon" and the dialect acting this time. You should put your heart and soul together like a second language. I think it's a dialect if I have to choose one that's a little more difficult. There is a lot of dialogue, and it is difficult to create a mainland vibe, so I have to pay more attention."
He then talked about the audience's reaction, which was most memorable since the release of 'History of Confession'. Shin Eun-soo says, "If you search 'Confession History' with my name, there are a lot of things that pop up. It felt good. Maybe because I was worried so much, the dialect compliment was very impressive. I was so fortunate and happy to be recognized by the natives."
