Jeong Chae-yeon recently met with Sports Chosun at the BH Entertainment headquarters and responded to the end of the interview 'Squire'.
'Esquire', which ended with the final episode on the 7th, proved the power of Korean legal dramas in 51 countries, ranking second in Netflix's global top 10 non-English TV shows. Jeong Chae-yeon, who plays the role of Kang Hyo-min, a new lawyer in the work, said of her first professional challenge, `It was a short and thick run, but it was a valuable scene where I learned a lot from my seniors.'
Jeong Chae-yeon confessed that she has renewed her attitude as an actor by joining a number of senior actors at the scene. "There were moments when smoke came out without my knowledge because the energy delivered by the seniors was so great. Whenever I was nervous, my seniors were considerate, so I thought a lot, 'I'm going to be a senior like that in 20, 30 years.'" he said.
Challenging his first lawyer character, he learned legal terms by reading and reading the script as if he were studying. "It took me a while to understand because it was not a common term but an unfamiliar term. I spent the most time because I needed to understand the script to make the lines mine. I'm satisfied with myself in that I tried various things and finished my first professional character well.'
He expressed his honest feelings about how he felt about his success by recording high ratings one after another. "I asked not to dwell on it, but every time I went up, I felt good. In the group chat room, whenever the director saw the phrase 'Let's cheer up, everyone cheered and thanked each other. When I was abroad, I was so moved that I cried watching Netflix's global rankings."
Jeong Chae-yeon defined the charm of 'esquire' as 's script read in viewer mode'. "From the beginning, it was read not as an actor but as a viewer's heart. I think that's why the viewers sympathized with me because I thought about right and wrong." In particular, in episode 4, lawyer Yoon Seok-hoon (Lee Jin-wook) personally retaliated, emphasizing that it was cool to deal with cases that could not be solved only by law.
In the play, Kang Hyo-min is a new lawyer who is faithful to the principles but constantly contemplates justice. Jeong Chae-yeon said "Hyomin was a good student, but she pursues fairness more. Like the line 'morality and law cannot be the same', he is a character with clear values. I tried to capture the trial and error of a newbie in society and it looks a lot like me." Then "I'm also obsessed with one thing. He added, "The simplicity of expressing honestly that good is good but hard is hard is similar.'
About his relationship with the other actor Lee Jin-wook "I was very nervous at first, but he made me feel comfortable. I also learned how to relax because the axis stood firmly. He was a mood maker and a boyish senior"Thank you." Lee Jin-wook also praised Jung Chae-yeon's court performance.
In addition, regarding the love line left with an open ending in the play, "I interpreted it as close to respect for my seniors, but I wanted the viewers to accept it freely." He cited the phrase 'Love is rainbow-colored' as a memorable line and said "It seems that it contains the message that the work wanted to say that there are many colors."
Entering his 10th year of acting, he still chose the expression "Actor Dreaming of an Actor". "I think having a dream is big in itself. The fact that I grew up challenging professional characters and looking back on love and human life are great learning in this work. I want to continue to find newness in the future."
Expressing that he is still interacting with IOI members, he said that on the 10th anniversary of next year, "I want to gather with the love of the people as much as I have received."
Finally, Jeong Chae-yeon said, `I want to be an adult actor with my axis standing. I want to grow up to be an actor who can endure even if he shakes and falls," he said, expressing a positive commitment to the possibility of a second season.
Ending in the love of global viewers 'esquire'. Expectations are high for Jung Chae-yeon's next move, who grew up through new lawyer Kang Hyo-min.
