JTBC's Friday series 'My Youth', which first aired on the 5th, captured viewers' hearts by intersecting the excitement and tension that began with the reunion of florist Sun Woo-hae (Song Joong-ki) and actor manager Sung Je-yeon (Cheon Woo-hee) and the memory of unfinished first love 15 years ago. According to Nielsen Korea, the viewership of the first and second episodes based on paid households in the metropolitan area was 3.0% and 3.1%, respectively, and the highest rate per minute soared to 4.8%, starting off smoothly.
The broadcast on this day densely captured the process of the two main characters, who were traveling between the flower market and the manager's site, being entangled again by past relationships. Sung Je-yeon visited his florist after hesitating after hearing the story of Sun Woo-hae, who was called the `people's brother and sister' when he was a child. Sun Woo-hae could not hide his disappointment when it was revealed that the pleasure was for a moment. However, the moment the forgotten name came back to mind, the emotional lines of the two were already shaking.
The reunion continued like a coincidence. When Sung Je-yeon found out that famous novelist Jin Moo-young's identity was Sunwoo, she visited him again, and eventually the two sat face to face again. Sunwoo-hae was confused but could not hide his longing, and eventually approached Sung Je-yeon and hugged her, revealing subtle emotions.
Then, the first love of my school days, which unfolded as a flashback, was very nostalgic. The two people who shone leaning on each other during the most difficult times. However, Sun Woo-hae failed to properly answer Sung Je-yeon's confession in front of a realistic wall, and eventually the relationship ended with a cold rejection. The short and intense first love ended with only a deep wound, but the reunion after 15 years signaled a new beginning.
In particular, the conversation between Sung Je-yeon, who expressed her sincerity under the influence of alcohol in the last scene, and Sun Woo-hae, who accepted it calmly, raised questions about the future stories of the two.
Meanwhile, 'My Youth' will be broadcast twice in a row every Friday at 8:50 p.m., and you can see it on Coupang Play in Korea, FOD in Japan, Viu in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Rakuten Viki in global regions such as the Americas, Europe, and Oceania.
