Unlike general movie posters, the teaser poster of 'Hope' is a special poster completed by capturing a frame of an actual movie.
The cut used in the teaser poster captures the moment a character on a horse running at full speed in the deep forest catches a young man running away from an alien by the scruff of the neck and saves him from danger.
Filmed in Romania's Letezat National Park, this scene was a high-level shot that was only possible if all elements, including actors, horses, wires, and cameras, matched without any error. For this one cut, the actors and crew went through five months of training and three months of pre-testing in Korea, and two months of adaptation training there.
Director Hong Kyung-pyo tried to make the most of natural light by carefully considering the light and environment of the forest. Despite the tricky situation of shooting 120 frames at high speed under natural light, the 'Hope' production team completed this cut with perfect timing in half a day with thorough preparation and combined breathing.
The teaser poster, which features raw boldness and speed, contains the action style of 'Hope', raising expectations for a new cinematic experience that director Na Hong-jin, who has changed the paradigm of Korean movies in every work, will show.
