In an interview with the mystery film 『Face" (directed by Yeon Sang-ho, produced by Wow Point) on the morning of the 15th, Park Jung-min delivered his thoughts on the young days of Lim Young-kyu, a blind artisan, and his son Lim Dong-hwan playing two roles.
About playing a blind person, Park Jung-min said, `As always, I didn't think much about my father in the process of choosing"I remembered my father who was actually blind. He seems to have thought that in the process of preparing "only "face". My mother is always next to my father, but I sometimes give her elbows or talk to her. I was so used to that part while playing the role of a son, so I was so used to the ad-lib in 'face'. I feel like I'm actually coming out. While preparing for the role of my father, I certainly can't understand him all. I wanted to prepare hard and show this side of me without being ashamed. Of course, my father can't see my acting and it's past the stage to grieve it. Through this work, I was able to look back on my life."
Regarding his senior Kwon Hae-hyo and his two-person role, he also said, `I didn't have time to prepare in advance. I think I only had two weeks before filming 'Face'. As a result, rather than making a character and sitting in front of the camera, I think I tried to create a similar feeling to Kwon Hae-hyo. Since Kwon Hae-hyo and her face are all different, she had to go with a feeling to be similar in the end. Rather than having to do something specific, what if human Park Jung-min is the son of Kwon Hae-hyo?' I think I put in my personal image with my thoughts. Basically, when I played my father Lim Young-gyu's youth, there was something that I couldn't see, and I was able to get a lot of help from costumes and art. He explained, "I think I naturally distinguished the two roles."
In collaboration with Kwon Hae-hyo, Park Jung-min made Lim Young-gyu's warrior into an ad-lib. All the staff and actors got to know Lim Young-gyu's warrior at that moment, and it was such a magical moment. I tried to act cartoonishly in Lim Young-gyu's past scene, but that emotion and Kwon Hae-hyo's current acting were so good. It was a gradual accumulation of characters. It was understandable that I exaggerated Lim Young-gyu in a cartoon in the past. Thanks to Kwon Hae-hyo, the scene of reminiscing about the past that was not in the script was so fun. I acted too, but I thought I had this past and gave legitimacy to my acting. Lim Young-gyu's throwback monologue, played by Kwon Hae-hyo, is said to be an impromptu act without consulting with director Yeon Sang-ho. It was a great scene"I'm impressed.
'Face' is a story about a blind man who becomes a craftsman in all fields, his son, and his wife and mother who have been buried for 40 years. Park Jung-min, Kwon Hae-hyo, Shin Hyun-bin, Lim Sung-jae, and Han Ji-hyun appeared, and Yeon Sang-ho, director of 'Train to Busan'Ban Peninsula', took the megaphone.
