Director Byun Sung-hyun and actor Seol Kyung-gu joined forces for the fourth time through the movie 'Good News'.

The press conference for the movie 'Good News' was held at the Beef Hill press conference hall of the Film Center in Haeundae-gu, Busan on the 19th. Seol Kyung-gu, Hong Kyung-gu, Takayuki Yamada, director Byun Sung-hyun, and chief programmer Park Ga-eon attended the site.

The Netflix film 'Good News' is an invitation to the gala presentation at the 30th Busan International Film Festival. The film depicts a suspicious operation of people gathering together in 1970 to land a hijacked plane at all costs, and the megaphone is directed by Byun Sung-hyun of 'Bulhan: The World of the Bad guys'(hereinafter referred to as 'Bulhan', 'Kingmaker', and 'Gil Bok-soon'.




'Good News' is a disaster thriller based on the abduction of Yodo Lake in March 1970. Director Byun, who directed the movie, said, `It's not just a comedy genre, but 'Black' is added to the front.' `I thought there should be sharpness as well as fun through the work. This happened in 1970, but I thought I could talk about the reality that I'm feeling now" he said.

Seol Kyung-gu worked with director Byun for the fourth time with 'Bulhan', 'Kingmaker', 'Gil Bok-soon', and 'Good News'. "It was even more difficult to work with director Byun Sung-hyun for the fourth time," he said. Hong-gyeong played Seo Seo Seo-myung, a lieutenant in the Air Force who was deployed in a secret operation. In particular, Hong Kyung will even present Japanese lines in her work. On Hong-kyung's Japanese skills, Byun said, `I was surprised when Hong-kyung spoke Japanese. Usually, to act in a foreign language, you have to memorize the lines, but Hong-kyung starts studying Japanese hiragana, such as the Korean alphabet. I was surprised that he wanted to hear the story of the other actor."

Upon hearing this, Hong-kyung said, `I don't think it's very superior, and I'm a little embarrassed. The head of the production company and the producer gave me enough time. I owe it to the director, but being able to have a long pre-production period as an actor is an important factor for me without experience. The roles of the CEO and the producer were important. Takayuki Yamada, who played Shinichi, Japan's deputy transportation minister who was dispatched to Korea, appeared in a Korean production for the first time through 'Good News'. "I knew the name of the Yodo-ho case, but I didn't know it very well," he said. "I think it's important to know the history, and I'm happy and grateful to be able to appear in the work. While having a lot of conversations with the director on the spot, I tried to focus on the character he created rather than the reality."

In addition, 'Good News' drew attention by parodying the Japanese cartoon 'Tomorrow's Joe' which was serialized from 1968 to 1973. Director Byun wrote a handwritten letter to the publisher and the writer, asking for permission with respect. I had a rough time, but fortunately, they recognized my directing intentions and allowed me to do so. It was a work that had a great influence on 'Good News' and it was a necessary scene"We worked hard on it, so I hope you enjoy it."

Meanwhile, the 30th Busan International Film Festival will be held for 10 days from the 17th to the 26th around the Film Center in Haeundae-gu, Busan. 'Good News' will be released on Netflix on October 17.
