TV CHOSUN held a production presentation for the new weekend drama Confidence Man KR (written by Hong Seung-hyun, directed by Nam Ki-hoon) at Stanford Hotel Korea in Mapo-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 1st. Producer Nam Ki-hoon, Park Min-young, Park Hee-soon and Joo Jong-hyuk attended the event.
The Korean version of the popular Japanese drama Confidence Man JP, Confidence Man KR, is a fraud in which three talented scammers seek revenge against the villains of this era, dreaming of the birth of a K-capemul with a story that cleverly penetrates the loopholes of the system. Park Min-young will play the role of Yoon Yi-rang, a fraudulent leader with IQ165, the top 1% genius brain, and Park Hee-soon will play James, the spiritual leader of the Confidence Man Team, making the most drastic transformation in 35 years since her debut. In addition, Joo Jong-hyuk will play the youngest member of the team, Myung Ku-ho, revealing his innocence and sloppyness, drawing attention to their teamwork.
As it is a remake of 'Confidence Man JP', a popular film that was aired in Japan, questions about the differences unique to Korea continued. In response, producer Nam said "The original work is also very good, but when we changed it to the Korean style, we focused on the reason for fraud." And I think the difference is the history of Daejon, played by Park Min-young, and the point where he tried hard to melt the past situation in a Korean way. Because of the addition of Lee Rang's narrative and probability, the charm of the Korean version is being completed.
