The self-portrait of youth itself..Kim Go-eun, Eun-jung, and Sang-yeon have a new face

Actor Kim Go-eun represented the face of youth.

The Netflix series 'Eunjung and Sangyeon' (played by Song Hye-jin and directed by Cho Young-min) released on the 12th tells the story of facing all the times of Eunjung and Sangyeon, two friends who like and admire each other the most at every moment and are jealous and hateful and intertwined throughout their lives. In the play, Kim Go-eun plays Ryu Eun-jung, depicting the moments when the excitement and anxiety of her 20s intersect.

Eun-jung, in her 20s, reunited with Sang-yeon (Park Ji-hyun) on the university campus, revealing a subtle emotional rift. After the joy and excitement passed, jealousy and anxiety soon overlapped and the expression changed. The fragments of memories called out by letters and photos, and the attitude of hesitation in front of relationships showed the instability of youth as it was, leading viewers to sympathize. Also, Eunjung in her 20s did not stay for a simple time. The moments of reunification and hesitation became the emotional basis for supporting the lives of characters who later reached their 30s and 40s and became the starting point throughout the entire work.

Kim Go-eun expressed the uncertain moments of Eunjung in her 20s with her delicate gaze, small gestures, and hesitation of words. In the reunion scene facing his friend Sang-yeon, he elaborately connected the process of changing his expression into jealousy and anxiety even though he was glad and excited on his face, so that viewers could follow Eun-jung's inner self.

In particular, in the scene that recalls the past in letters and photos, the space of the gaze and the tension of the body were used to show the moment when memories and emotions intersect. The confusion and delicate emotions of the character were imbued with even a small detail, such as a trivial gesture, a habit of biting lips, and a wobble in the eye.

This acting choice did not just capture the anxiety of youth, but played a role in laying the foundation for the emotional flow that will lead to the retirement of those in their 30s and 40s. By showing the clumsy and unfinished texture of youth beyond the rigid and perfect image, Kim Go-eun was evaluated as expanding the acting area that had not been shown before.

In this way, Eunjung in her 20s, played by Kim Go-eun, has become a decisive starting point that connects all the time of the work. The shaken 20-year-old moment opened the long flow of the work by moving alive with the actor's face.

Meanwhile, the entire episode of 'Eunjung and Performance' starring Kim Go-eun was released on Netflix and is streaming amid heated reactions at home and abroad.
