MBN's Wednesday-Thursday miniseries 'First Lady' (written by Kim Hyung-wan, directed by Lee Ho-hyun), which first aired on the 24th of last month, drew explosive attention from the beginning, dealing with the unprecedented case of her husband, who was elected president, demanding a divorce from his wife, who would become the first lady in the future. Immediately after the first episode aired, it ranked second in the category of Netflix 'Korea's TOP 10 Series' and succeeded in settling the TOP 5 in Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia, proving its global popularity.
In the last broadcast, Cha Soo-yeon (Yu Jin) sent his move to the launch ceremony of the transition team of President-elect Hyun Min-chul (Ji Hyun-woo), creating a shocking scene. Amid the situation where the couple's divorce is becoming a fait accompli in front of reporters, Shin Hae-rin (Lee Min-young) nodded as if she planned it and formed a subtle atmosphere, making viewers nervous.
In the third episode, which will be released today (1st), Hyun Min-cheol and Shin Hae-rin will face off head-to-head. Hyun Min-chul throws an ice-cold look of distrust at Shin Hae-rin, who has given her absolute trust, while Shin Hae-rin can't hide her anxiety with her head down. Hyun Min-cheol sharply interrogates, but Shin Hae-rin finally holds out in silence, and an irreversible crack hangs between the two.
At the filming site, Ji Hyun-woo and Lee Min-young maximized their tension by catching dramatic emotional lines. Ji Hyun-woo coldly expressed the cool psychology of the president-elect who felt betrayed, and Lee Min-young confronted the ambitious figure with a determined look while hiding his inner feelings. The production team raised expectations for future developments, saying, `A scene that will break trust in each other and mark the beginning of a power war.'
Meanwhile, the third episode of MBN's Wednesday-Thursday mini-series First Lady will air at 10:20 p.m. on October 1.
