Heo Nam-joon recently met with Sports Chosun at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, and responded to the end of the interview for "100 Memories."
JTBC's Saturday-Sunday drama 『100 Memories』, which ended on the 19th, is a Newtro youth melodrama depicting the shining friendship between Ko Young-rye (Kim Da-mi) and Seo Jong-hee (Shin Ye-eun) on the 100th bus, and the affectionate first love surrounding Han Jae-pil (Heo Nam-joon), the fateful man of the two friends. In the play, Heo Nam-joon played the role of Jae-pil, Yeong-rye's first love.
Heo Nam-jun said "12 episodes passed in an instant. As the filming period was long, I feel very relieved and sad..." he said at the end of the show. As for how you felt about your first major role, "At first, I just ran like crazy, but as time went by, I felt my own pressure. "I'm very disappointed that it ended after thinking about it in the midst of tension."
The news of a rise in ratings after the first episode was a pleasant stimulus. Heo Nam-jun was proud to think that it was a work that everyone did together as the viewer rating went up. I felt good when I searched in the morning," he said with a smile. Although I did not look for reactions on purpose, the warm support delivered through my family was a great help.
Surprisingly, the reason for choosing the work was simple. Heo Nam-jun read "As soon as I received the script, I read it at once. 'How did you write it like this?' I watched it with admiration. I liked the overall atmosphere and emotion and wanted to do it" he said. In particular, the character's 'purity' moved my mind. "The rewriting after seven years felt more pure. I was attracted to the appearance of human courage rather than the adult and strong person."
He also did not hide his affection for the actors he worked with. First of all, about Kim Dami "I thought she would be naive, but she was more forceful than I thought. The delicate side was particularly noticeable when filming. The depth of reading the script was different. I learned a lot from the side. He said he wanted to rely on his sister.
As for Shin Ye-eun, an alumnus of Sungkyunkwan University, "When I was in school, I passed it once right after I was discharged from the military. I remembered it, but Yeeun had no idea." Then "I thought Yeeun would be tough, but she was actually a clear and warm person. There was an image of 'Yeonjin ', so I was cautious, but he approached me first. He is a friend who makes people around him more comfortable than I thought. We communicated well on the spot, so we had good chemistry."
The work is set in the 1980s. Heo Nam-jun "There were many parts that were similar to the emotions I saw when I was young. "Whenever I saw familiar props on the set, I thought of romance" and "It was good to feel that emotion again because it was a time when there was less stimulation than these days."
He also answered the controversy over school uniforms in some quarters. Heo Nam-jun said "In fact, when I looked at pictures of my father's friends at that time, I had a lot of mature impressions even when I was wearing school uniforms. That's the image we referenced. However, he explained that there could have been a sense of heterogeneity because it was a 'neutro' that added a modern sense.
He also talked about the burden of the romance genre and the secret behind the kiss scene. Heo Nam-jun said "It wasn't easy because I had to express subtle emotions, not stimulating genres. If romance works come in again, wouldn't I be able to do better then?" As for the kissing scene with Kim Dami, I was worried about how to capture my emotions. I filmed it while asking a lot of questions to the director amid the tension."
Heo Nam-jun expressed '100 memories '"A work to be taken out for a while." "The air and atmosphere of the site, which were pure and warm, are likely to be memorable for a long time. I may not know it well now, but I think it will come more precious in time."
Meanwhile, '100 Memories' started with 3.3% in the first episode and showed a steady rise, ending with 8.1% viewership in the final episode on the 19th.
