The prize money is 1 billion won..Physical Asia Opens Biggest National Competition Ever (Roundup)

Representatives from eight countries of 'Physical: Asia' will compete for 1 billion won in prize money.

On the afternoon of the 24th, Netflix held a production presentation for the new original entertainment show 'Physical: Asia" at a hotel in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Producer Jang Ho-ki, Yoon Sung-bin, Kim Min-jae, Amoti, Jang Eun-sil and Choi Seung-yeon attended the event. In addition, Kim Dong-hyun (the first Korean mixed martial arts UFC fighter), Japan's Okami Yushin (the most wins in UFC Asia), Thailand's James Lusamikae (a volleyball player-turned-actor), Australia's Robert Whitaker (former UFC middleweight champion), Mongolia's Erhungbayar Bayarsaihang (traditional wrestler), Turkiye Recep Kara (oil wrestling champion), and Indonesia's Iggs Executive (bodybuilder) participated in the video.

'Physical: Asia' is a physical war in which eight Asian countries hang their flags. It is the first national competition in the 'Physical' series. A total of 48 legendary players, six from each of eight Asian countries in Korea, Japan, Thailand, Mongolia, Turkiye, Indonesia, Australia, and the Philippines, will stage a fierce physical battle, unveiling a huge scale stadium and a vast world view of Korean and Asian culture, as well as the fierce competition of hexagonal physicals that challenge human limits, various tactics and strategies, and teamwork through upgraded mega quests.

Producer Jang Ho-ki, who created the `Physical: 100' series, created it thinking that it was a new form of Olympic content that can only be seen on Netflix and in our 'Physical' series around the world. Players from eight countries did their best with the pride of the country, so I hope you look forward to what kind of performance they will perform and what kind of competition they will have."

After the individual exhibition 'Physical: 100' series, this time the world view will be expanded to the group exhibition 'Physical: Asia'. In response to this, producer Jang replied, `Since it is a show that started in Korea, it would be good to see it as a concept of expanding through Asia. The players were evenly gathered so that there was no big difference between each country. Legends or people who play traditional sports are here. I had a hard time bringing people from Korea, but Pacquiao from the Philippines contacted me several times and invited me to the Philippines, so I watched him train at home, ate home-cooked meals together at the table, gave an explanation of the physicality, and left right away that day."

Unlike previous series set in pantheon and underground madness, 'Physical: Asia' will capture the culture of Korea and Asia this time. Producer Jang has worked hard for more than a year to capture the diverse cultures of Asia, centering on Korea. As revealed in the notice, I took a picture thinking about what it would look like if such a competition was held at Gyeongbokgung Palace, with Gyeongbokgung Geunjeongjeon as the main theme place. He also used a large drum that appeared at the opening ceremony of the Olympics, thinking that he should homage to the 1988 Seoul Olympics. I got a motif from Asian etymology or epic poems. I think it's going to be a fun point."

The passion for winning is also different because legendary players wage a physical war with the pride of the country. The prize money of the winner of the 'Physical: Asia' is 1 billion won, which is the largest amount ever. Producer Jang Ho-ki said, `The prize money is also large, but they don't work hard because of the prize money. "It is true that it is a big prize, but everyone who appeared did their best, thinking of the country's honor and the pride of their own physicality rather than the prize money."

With Kim Dong-hyun as the centerpiece, former skeleton national gold medalist Yoon Sung-bin, world champion Kim Min-jae who has engulfed the ssireum community, Amoti, the winner of Season 2 of 'Physical: 100', former wrestling national team member Jang Eun-sil, who showed strong leadership in Season 1 of 'Physical: 100', and CrossFit Asia No. 1 Choi Seung-yeon will step up for the pride of the host country.

In addition to the Korean team, athletes from a variety of sports will face off, including violent speculative events such as judo, wrestling, boxing, karate, jujitsu, and sambo, powerful ball games such as rugby, basketball, volleyball, and baseball, and unique sports such as parkour, strongman, and kokye. In particular, it draws attention in that traditional sports athletes from Korean wrestling to Mongolian wrestling, Turkiye oil wrestling, and Thai Muay Thai gather.

Kim Dong-hyun, who confronted them, said "Our team gathered members of different colors. I don't know how other teams prepare, but the advantage of our team is that we have six team leaders. I'm just the oldest, and I think that's the strength of Korea"And there are so many strengths of our team members," he said, expressing confidence.

However, in addition to performers from Asian countries, participants from Turkiye and Australia also appeared in 'Physical: Asia', leaving questions about fairness. Producer Jang responded to this by saying, `It started as a program that competes without discriminating race, gender, or age. There seems to be an opinion that it may not be appropriate because it came from a particularly far away country. It's because we chose the title 'Asia'. Our program is to overcome the limitations, and the name of Asia is to expand little by little, and it is not intended to be done only by Asian people, so please understand that broadly so that various people can join together."

'Physical: Asia' will be released on Netflix on the 28th from the 1st to the 4th. After that, 5-6 episodes will be released at 5 p.m. on November 4, 7-9 episodes at 5 p.m. on November 11, and 10-12 episodes at 5 p.m. on the 18th.
