On the afternoon of the 25th, a production presentation for Channel A's new entertainment show 「'Baseball Queen' was held at the Grand Ballroom of The St. Sindorim, Guro-gu. Writers Pak Se-ri, Choo Shin-soo, Lee Dae-dae, Yoon Seok-min, Kim Min-ji, Kim On-ah, Kim Sung-yeon, Shin Jae-ho, and Kang Sook-kyung attended the meeting to talk about the program. The "Baseball Queen" is a sports variety program in which the "Legendary Women's Elections" of different sports challenges the unfamiliar stage of "Baseball". It is another sports entertainment show in which producer Shin Jae-ho of the 'Steel Unit W" and writer Kang Sook-kyung, who oversaw the Physical100" series, have joined forces, and under the leadership of general manager Pak Se-ri, coaches Choo Shin-soo and Lee Dae-dae and Yoon Seok-min have built a solid 'Gamco lineup', attracting high attention from the launch stage.
A total of 15 people joined the 50th women's baseball team 'Black Queens', including track and field Kim Min-ji, rhythmic gymnastics Shin Soo-ji, handball Kim On-ah and Park White, judo Kim Sung-yeon, swimming Jung Yu-in, speed skating Kim Bo-reum, softball Ayaka, boxing Choi Hyun-mi, shooting Park Bo-ram, rowing Lee Soo-yeon, soccer main Su-jin, ice hockey Shin So-jeong, badminton Jang Soo-young and tennis Song-ah. As they are all players who represented the country in their respective events, expectations are high on what kind of growth process they will create by meeting the new event called 'baseball'.
On this day, Park Se-ri said, `I set my goal while having a foundation ceremony,' adding, `We are about to win the national championship. I think I have high expectations and I think I deserve to be greedy. I believe it is possible enough as a result." The will to prove with skill beyond the beginner team was reflected.
Manager Choo Shin-soo also presented his final goal in more detail. He said "All sports are difficult, but baseball has a lot to do. But the players were much faster than I thought they would be," he said, giving a thumbs-up to the team's growth rate. The ultimate goal is to produce even one female national team player from 'Black Queens', he said, stressing that "I think it's possible enough." This clearly reveals the direction of expanding the base of women's baseball beyond just entertainment.
It is significant that it is the first full-fledged female sports team in Korea to form a baseball team to challenge. In particular, as three Korean players have been nominated in the top round in the U.S. Women's Professional Baseball League (WPBL) recently, attention is being paid to what kind of trend 'Baseball Queen' will create.
Although it is the first time in baseball, the 'sports queens' in each field that are familiar with the game will challenge 'baseball' in earnest, and Channel A 'baseball queen' will premiere at 10 p.m. on the 25th.
