Ha Jungwoo Unveils ‘The People Upstairs,’ Reflecting on Lessons From Past Work

On the afternoon of the 25th, a press and distribution preview was held at Megabox COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, for the comedy film 『People Upstairs』 (directed by Jungwoo Ha, produced by Sidus and Workhouse Company). The premiere was attended by Jungwoo Ha as Kim, the husband of the upper house who came to make a different proposal, Gong Hyo-jin as Lim Jung-ah, the wife of the lower house who is curious about the different experience, Kim Dong-wook as Lee Hyun-soo, the husband of the lower house who is uncomfortable with the different proposal, and Lee Ha-nui as Choi Soo-kyung, the wife of the upper house, who wants to share a different experience.
Director Jungwoo Ha commented on presenting his fourth directorial work "Thanks to the experience of the previous work, I had the opportunity to meet the audience again. I think I will continue to live the director's journey. There was a process of learning and realizing through the results of the previous work. It seems to be growing very little by little. We did our best to collaborate on both our previous work and this work. There seems to have been a small enlightenment and growth in areas where I was not able to do so, he said with humility.
He said "It would be nice if I could meet a lot of the audience. It's a movie that's hard to tell what to watch. It's like a genre called comedy film, but I don't limit it to comedy film. I wanted to collaborate with actors and tell a well-organized story well. I felt the same when I saw the original Spanish work. I think it's a story that I could fully understand. I think it has become a work that I can listen to and see and do with many people at the end of the year."
'People Upstairs' is a story about a couple upstairs and a couple downstairs having a night's dinner together due to the noise between floors every night. Jungwoo Ha, Gong Hyo-jin, Kim Dong-wook, and Lee Ha-nui appeared, and it is Jungwoo Ha's fourth directorial production after 'Roller Coaster'Huh Sam-gwan''Robbie'. It will be released on December 3rd.
