In the summer of 2011, two robbers broke into a luxury residential complex near Seoul. Then, similar methods and descriptions took place in nearby areas such as Yongin and Bundang, and as a result of the confirmation, they committed at least 38 crimes over the past four years and the amount of damage amounted to 1.26 billion won. They committed a series of thefts thoroughly enough to leave no evidence, such as fingerprints or footprints, on the scene.
Starting with Gyeonggi-do, detectives from all over the country jumped into the investigation by collecting cases that appeared to be similar methods such as Busan, Jinju, Ulju, and Yangsan. There were several witnesses and CCTV footage of them, but no clues were found to identify the culprit.
However, a new phase began to unfold in 2015 when a detective from the Gwangjin Police Station in Seoul took over the case. While looking at the case records one by one again, I caught one unclear part. And as we persistently follow the evidence, the identity of the trio begins to emerge slowly.
