Yoo Jae-seok Wins 20th Career Grand Prize at 2024 SBS Entertainment Awards

Yoo Jae-seok won the grand prize at the "2024 SBS Entertainment Awards" held at SBS Prism Tower in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul on the 29th. The award ceremony was originally scheduled to be held on December 31 last year, but it was postponed in the atmosphere of remembrance due to the Jeju Air disaster. MCs were Jeon Hyun-moo, Lee Hyun-yi, and Jang Do-yeon, showing a smooth progress.
Yoo Jae-suk, Jeon Hyun-moo, Shin Dong-yup, Lee Sang-min, Seo Jang-hoon, Lee Hyun-yi, and Kim Jong-guk were nominated for this year's grand prize. Despite fierce competition, Yoo Jae-seok once again proved his position as SBS's representative entertainer, firmly maintaining his position as the `Entertainment Emperor.'
Yoo Jae-seok, who was on stage, couldn't hide his emotional expression and said, "The first time I won the grand prize was in 2005. At that time, I never imagined this day would come. I still can't believe this is my 20th grand prize." Then "My relationship with SBS has already been 22 years. It was possible thanks to many of the production staff and colleagues who have been with us so far," he said, expressing his deep affection for the members of Running Man.
Yoo Jae-seok said, `I am thrilled to be here 20 years after winning my first grand prize. Running Man became the longest-running variety show in Korea. If you compare it to a car, it is now a program like a classic car. Even the same car needs more oil and maintenance. I know better than anyone that the production team's efforts are great."
At the ceremony, the most popular program award and the highest ratings program award were awarded to 'Running Man' and 'My Ugly Baby', respectively. Yoo Jae-seok also said "Running Man" was able to come this far thanks to the unwavering love of the viewers. It was possible because both the production team and the members have been working together in one mind, so we expressed our gratitude.
Meanwhile, producer Park Jung-won of 'My Ugly Baby', who won the highest ratings program award, said "Every week when I check the ratings, I feel a sense of accomplishment and a burden at the same time. In fact, it is only a moment when ratings fall, but it is not easy to raise them again. We were able to remain competitive for such a long time thanks to the best cast and crew.
The award ceremony was a meaningful event that sheds light on the past, present, and future of SBS entertainment. And at the center of it, Yoo Jae-seok, who has led the Korean entertainment industry, once again decorated a page of history by proving his dignity as an `entertainment emperor.'
