Han Ji-eun met with Sports Chosun at a cafe in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 24th and had an interview with tvN's Friday-Saturday drama 「Ask the Stars」 (written by Seo Sook-hyang, directed by Park Shin-woo) and the original TVing series"Study Group" (written by Oh Bo-hyun, directed by Lee Jang-hoon and directed by Yoo Beom-sang). Han Ji-eun, who is the only one in the cast of Ask the Stars, is "Whatever it is, it's a work I've worked hard on and I love." I think there may be a point where 'Ask the Stars' feels unfamiliar to viewers because of unfamiliar points, but since there is a good medium called OTT, there is a hope that one day you will be able to take it out when the time passes through Netflix and TVing." he said.
Han Ji-eun was then asked "What part would have been unfamiliar?" and "I think there is a part that I usually thought of in the vast subject of space." There are points where I think the story is a bigger story within that big scale. As the story we take eventually focused on the basic point of small stories in which people live in a large place with a human smell, I think the gap may be large. "It would have been nice if the results were good, but I hope you can see it anytime."
It is a work that was strongly divided into likes and dislikes. It was meaningful in that the story was told as an office product on the vast stage of space with a huge production cost of 50 billion won, but some said that it was difficult to accept the sexual remarks that repeatedly appeared in the limited story. Han Ji-eun "I think the reason why a lot of production costs were inevitable was because the space called space had to be made into a set. There was also a part that had to be filled with CG (computer graphics) on the set that was built as real as possible. In the long run, it cost a lot of production, but I think acting and production costs are separate from the perspective of the actor who acted. It cost a lot of money, so you have to be loved a lot, and that's the part you don't expect."
Han Ji-eun "But I didn't experience capital firsthand. Because I was on Earth. When I filmed the space scene in another set, I went and looked around. At that time, each prop was carefully set up, so I thought 'I have no choice but to hold it a lot. The MZ group set is actually amazing, too. That's good, too. The space itself is large and carefully set. In that sense, I realized that it was a big drama environmentally" he said.
Han Ji-eun "I watched the main broadcast during the first broadcast, and I also watched it with various emotions such as curiosity, excitement, and worry about how viewers would feel about our drama. I thought it was more interesting than I thought. It was more fun than I thought. It's because unfamiliar points that may seem a little exaggerated are unfamiliar, but if you look at it positively, you think it's pleasant. I thought they were straightforward and outspoken points. If I had started with taking our drama heavily, I thought it would have been more fitting when I started on the other side, and I personally liked it because I solved it lightly. From the standpoint of seeing the script and watching the video, I liked that point, and there were some points where I thought it might be unfamiliar in terms of comments that might seem a little stimulating, but I thought it would be good if you could look at them with an open mind. In the end, it was a human story. I think you can look at it from a different perspective if you follow people's honest stories, tangled relationships and inner flows."
There was also a regret about the ending. Eve (Gong Hyo-jin), the main character in the play, died after giving birth to a dinosaur (Lee Min-ho) child in space. Han Ji-eun is upset. The ending of Eve is unfortunate as a person, and the position of Goeun, who has to let Ryong go, is also heartbreaking. But I also think I had no choice but to do so. When it comes to what ended in an open ending with Kang Soo (Oh Jung-se), I thought there was a point where I could imagine it alone at that point."
Ask the Stars is a story about the life of Boss Eve (Kong Hyo-jin), who works on a zero-gravity space station, and an uninvited dinosaur (Lee Min-ho), who has a secret mission, and Han Ji-eun played Choi Dae-eun, the fiancée of the dinosaurs, in the play. With a huge production cost of 50 billion won, Ask the Stars recorded the highest viewer rating of 3.9 percent and the lowest viewer rating of 1.8 percent.(National standard for Nielsen Korea paid households)
Study Group is a story about a fierce entrance examination in which Yoon Ga-min (Hwang Min-hyun), a boy who wants to study well but is only talented in fighting, forms a study group at Yuseong High School, the worst school on earth. Han Ji-eun played Lee Han-kyung, Yoon Ga-min's teacher in the play. 'Study Group' was a success as it ranked No. 1 for four consecutive weeks in the number of paid subscribers to TVing.(based on TVing)
