On the occasion of March 1st, Sungshin Women's University Professor Seo Kyung-duk and actor Kim Nam-gil joined forces to release a multilingual video introducing poet and independence activist Yoon Dong-ju.
The five-minute video was produced as part of the KB Kookmin Bank 'Daehan Lived' campaign, and was released in Korean and English and is widely spread to domestic and foreign netizens.
The main contents of the video re-examined the life of Yun Dong-ju, his humanity, and various meanings contained in the poem. Above all, he covered in detail his 'spirit of independence', which did not hesitate to think about the independence of his country even while being arrested and tried by the Japanese. In particular, to mark the 80th anniversary of his death this year, the image of Yun Dong-ju was reproduced by using a Generative AI in the video.
Professor Seo emphasized that `It is the most important thing for our generation to do now to re-examine independence activists who are gradually forgotten by the public and to spread their lives through videos.'
He also added that "It is spreading not only on YouTube, but also on various social media, and it is spreading to major Korean and international student communities around the world by sharing videos."
Actor Kim Nam-gil, narrated in Korean, said, `I am happy to introduce Yoon Dong-ju's life with my voice, and I just hope that many domestic and foreign Internet users will watch it," he said.
